Subject: Koshini Pak 8 - Shini-Taur *problems*

Blue Moon ( ) posted Tue, 23 September 2003 at 10:35 AM · edited Tue, 04 February 2025 at 10:50 PM

Anyone out there buy it? exe version Does it work for you?
I bought it yesterday afternoon and I have the shrugging man for all the png's rsr, When I use the tail, hair, and feathers I get the file not found box (though it doesn't say what file is not found and I don't have the option of looking for it manually), I went to view the texture files (the jpg's) and my computer will not read them nor PhotoShop or Paint Shop Pro. I installed them on my husbands computer (desktop he doesn't have Poser) and his computer will not read them either. I even downloaded it again to be sure it wasn't tweaked in the first download. Any idea what is wrong?

Cylithera ( ) posted Tue, 23 September 2003 at 11:23 AM

It's a problem with the .exe, LadyLittleFox has said. She and DAZ are working to get it fixed. ;)

elizabyte ( ) posted Tue, 23 September 2003 at 11:41 AM

Yes, I have it. No, it doesn't work. The textures are all basically blank files, the directories are full of 'shrugging guys', and the MAT poses don't work anyway. Basically something is very wrong. No idea what it is. :( bonni

Is this true for Ichi_taur as well, I got both. but am at work so I can't check them.

shazz501 ( ) posted Tue, 23 September 2003 at 12:02 PM

i have them both and have the same problems with both of them :(

Blue Moon ( ) posted Tue, 23 September 2003 at 12:24 PM

I am very glad to know it is not my computer.:)

Blue Moon ( ) posted Tue, 23 September 2003 at 12:28 PM

Out of curiosity. Why is Daz still selling them if they know something is wrong? I am kind of disheartened to think that I bought something that they knew there was a problem with.

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Tue, 23 September 2003 at 12:50 PM

I thought all they DID sell was the texture packs? I saw the Shini-Taur the day it was released and before I got arount to buy it, it was gone again. Then I heard there was a problem at that this was the reason it had been taken down. I looked for it this morning, still no go, used the link from the textures where it said Shini-Taur. Nothing. Seems like Daz have put it up in a state that was even worse than before. After all I have seen Pokeydots make a nice render with it. But perhaps that was the Mac version?!

They pulled them over the weekend, and then put them back online today. I bought them, thinking that they would have fixed the installer program. I admit I'm kind of puzzled as to what's going on. bonni

I know that they will get it all worked out, but it would be nice from a P/R C/R perspective to let us know what was going on. (He sits Patiently waiting, squirming just a bit but but looking patient when anyone is watching)

I got shinitaur the first day before it was taken down, and the only problem I had was a missing hair trans, which LadyLittlefox sent me so now it works fine :) I did buy the one for Iricho last night but haven't tried it yet

I bought both packs yesterday and have the same problem: My Poser 4 wouldn't let me convert the bump files to bum format and my Poser 5 says files are missing. The important thing is that Daz and LadyLittlefox are aware of the problem and are working on it. I'm sure they'll get it resolved soon so we can all play.

Sorry for not answering sooner, been fielding this question on the Koshini List and waiting for an answer. Yes there was a problem, I'm not exactly certain what was corrupting the RSRs and Jpgs on the exe. I got word to Daz first thing this morning and they've been working on it since. I've just had word that the problem is fixed and they are up. Let me know if this fix doesn't work and I'll poke Daz some more for ya ;) Thanks to those of you who let me know. You guys know I'll do everything in my power to get the problem solved as quickly as possible ;) HUGS!! Littlefox

littlefox ( ) posted Tue, 23 September 2003 at 4:37 PM

Eeeps, anyone else still having trouble with Ichi-Taur or was it a bad download? Let me know asap so that I can catch the folk at Daz before they leave work. Littlefox

SKondris ( ) posted Tue, 23 September 2003 at 5:34 PM

All the installers should now be working, the PC installer for Ichi-Taur is finishing uploading now. So, shazz501, try downloading and installing again and see if it works for you. Sorry for the inconvenience with these products everyone. We've had our primary webmaster out of the office all week as his wife just had their first baby (still something in the water out here apparently ;) ), so we've all been scrambling to cover for him. Thanks for your patience, Steve Kondris DAZ Productions, Inc.
