Subject: M3? Is he only for P5 or.....

I feel stupid asking, but is Michael 3 only for Poser 5? I haven't followed the threads or hype too closely, so I'm kinda outa the loop. Thanks for helping a loopless fellow. G'Sni'x

Huzzah!! Thanks SamT. I guess it's worth the buy. Do you know if they're going to "butch" him up at all?

Dunno. I guess you'd be able to get a pretty macho looking figure out of the mesh, what with the morph packs. I believe it's just the default shape which is less bulky than the usual Mike shape.

Trust me, you can "butch" him up by using the morphs. This will become more and more evident as people have time to explore the possibilities offered by the morphs. It's up to the artist to make the most of M3's potential. The more I work with the morphs, the more amazed I am at the possibilities. Things will be even better once DAZ releases the update.

There's also a couple of morph packs in the works that'll really help him a lot. If you've got a lot of M2 textures you like, check out the UTC at Daz too. For the price of a good texture, you can convert all your favorites to M3 with the UTC and the plugings.

Is it worth it to convert textures before the Sr1? I'm worried about UV differences-- I would guess everyone who's done textures so far would be. Ordinarily it's just a few clicks but my hand doesn't have the clicks in it it used to. Emily gonna do Paco though after seeing what he looked like in your render, Jim.

M3 IS butch. At least he's not as feminine as some may claim. Try loading him and Vickie into the same scene. There's a CLEAR difference! And he's easy to make very different with only the morphs from the Face morph pack. Here's one I've made. I've blocked out the actual product coz this is not meant as a commercial, it was just the only pic I had here, at work *G*

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Emily, while they are going doing some work to the mesh there is no plan that I know of to change the uv map. that should stay the same(though I am not Daz and am not privy to all their info), as a DAZ merchant I was informed of things to look for and textures wasn't one of them.

Hey pdxjims, if i want to convert my m2 textures to M3 what plugins do i need? basic UTC converter + ?? many thanks in advance Cheers

RHaseltine ( ) posted Thu, 25 September 2003 at 8:16 AM

Both plugins - the Michael/Steph one so that the UTC can read the source correctly, and the M3 one so that it can write the output.
