I think it was early last year (I don't have all the details) that Blizzard Software was found to have included some tracking software in their game releases, to monitor online usage of their products and collect demographic information. They got in trouble because they did this without telling their customers about the software (much like Real Audio did a few months ago).

They actually collected information from your computer and then transfered it to Blizzard... including email name, etc. This is illegal. If Poser is doing this without SPECIFICALLY telling you EXACTLY what is being transferred.... Well, let's just say that I would hate to see Poser go down the drain because of some shady programming practices. Curious Labs isn't Blizzard, with millions and millions of dollars of revenue, a class-action lawsuit could wipe them out. I hope they heed this warning.

If they (Curious) are doing this, then they should be out of business. And I would help. Too bad a criminal prosecution is a moot point. I don't care how good the product is, if they violate your privacy, shut 'em down. For good. Put them out of business. That is the only way the NEXT company won't do it - fear. And all those programmers will have to get a job with a company that plays by the rules. I don't support low-lifes, whether it is a person or a company. And you shouldn't either. And if this is sloppiness, or a security 'mistake', then it is almost as bad. I don't believe in 'company mistakes'. Went out with the Tooth Fairy.
