Subject: Frosty Mug or just cloudy?

I'm playing around while I wait for that 3 day render, and made a kewl mug...but I wanted to make one that looked frosted, like they give ya for rootbeer floats and stuff... Does this look frosted? or just cloudy? Thanks Jen

Looks good (frosty), maybe with a little bump it'll look even better :)

I don't have any mugs in the freezer right now to look at. But if I'm not mistaken, the handle is not frozen. (correct me if I'm wrong here). But the rest of the mug looks pretty good. Now a little melting water running down on the side, and some good brew inside- and I'm ready for a beer. l

the kind where the frost is on the outside, yes, it will be on the handle....(in glasses anyway) We've got a Long John Silver's here that merged with A&W and they now give, rather then paper cups, frosty mugs for every drink...lol I think a logo would look good on it, but not sure how to do that in bryce on a cylinder, but i'm gonna keep playin with it... And Britt? will add some beer in it for you! You like the dark stuff or light stuff? lol I actually played with one before this, without frost, trying to get some beer in it, and i didn't get the coloring right, so went with this instead...lol I'm thinking (just thinking) of maybe puttin git in the freestuff section when it's done.. I know mugs are easy to make, but this one I have with lots of those indents in the bottom... lol looks kinda kewl with light shining through it... But I need to fix them first, they don't all quite line up yet...lol Thanks Britt and hyperborea for the input! Jen

for maximum effect you need to use blurry transmission render option.

Looks frosty to me. Fill it up and pass it around!

It looks about right to me. perhaps a just little less ambience(not much less) if possible. UMM A&W! They used to make the best hamburgers when I was a kid. - TJ

Looks like it has been in the freezer alright.Greta job.Maybe handle could be a tad smaller in thickness for the size of cylinder."Maybe" Oh Sure got hungry now thinking about A&W.My weekly Wedensday retreat.

looks pretty frosty to me too. Maybe add some blurry transmission as Max said. And a little tiny bit of bump maybe for the ice on the glass.

If you want real frost, try another cylinder outside the mug, but close to it, with a transmap. The visible parts can be textured for snow effect.

JC_01 ( ) posted Sun, 28 September 2003 at 11:05 PM

Yes, that's what I did lol But not a transmap.....I dont' think so anyway...hahhaha I applied a highly edited cloud texture to it, and yes, I've added some bump (before my bryce messed up) and hope to (after fixing it) be able to post another version... Thankssssssss Jen
