Greetings Poser fans! A short time ago, I created the Poser Top 25. I did so because I wanted to contribute something to the Poser community who has helped me so much and nutured me thru my Poser learning years. It has come to my attention that perhaps people do not understand how the Top 25 works. I wanted to take this oppurtunity to explain so that people do not misunderstand and feel the need to insult me. The Top 25 works like this... First, the webmaster of a Poser site signs up. Once sign-up is complete, he/she received HTML code to add to his/her site. Once the HTML code is added, a small Top25 icon appears on their webpage. When people click on the icon, they are taken to the Top25 site and a vote is entered for the referring site. Consequently, the more people who click on the icon from your site, the more votes you have. The site itself simply displays a list of the 25 sites with the most votes. That's how the top 25 works. One very insulting person implied that I am gaining something for this. The only thing I am gaining is the satisfaction of helping other Poser users. Nothing more. I pay for the webspace, the domain and the bandwidth. I ask for nothing from either users or webmasters. I do not put up advertisements or banners of any kind. Thanks for making it clear ookami to the forum.. I have absolutely NO problem mentioning that it was ME the one who caused this thread of yours, by my request to unsubscibe me before I DO post a complaint myself!... YET..what I don't see mentioned above and it definately should..is that once one has subscribed and then finds out that he doesn't wish to proceed..you haven't made arrangements for the UNSUBSCRIPTION process..which I have never met before on the web!!! I asked you kindly to delete me because I thought that the way it worked reminded me of warez top 50 and the reply I got was that there's no such process and if I don't add your html to my site then Fairywoods will keep on dropping down on the list and eventually will disappear! Do you call THAT a service to poser users? Very accurate info indeed! I don't get easily mad ookami..but I'm sorry to say that this time you fully deserve my wrath! As you can see I'm not afraid of words when I know I'm right! ..if you felt offended after YOUR rude denial to remove me from you list because I threatened you to make a big fuss about it at the forum since I believed that I was coned to subscribe and only THEN be provided with the info about the link I have to include on my site! Well..as you can see I have no problem providing the full info and story (names included) for others to judge! RENAPD

Renapd, I'm sorry you are having a hissy fit over this. As my email reply stated, you were deleted immediately after you asked. The only reason I told you that you could stay on the list, was so that you might gleen a few extra hits from the top 25 list until your site. It was aimed at helping you, not hurting you. In fact that's what the Poser Top 25 was designed to do: Help Poser users and help webmasters of Poser sites, as I stated in my post. The Poser Top 25 is constantly under improvement. I have recently added the ability to change all information and will soon add the ability to remove yourself completely from the list. Since Poser Top 25 is a labor of love, the changes come slowly, as I have time to work on them. Again, my apologies to anyone who may have misunderstood or misinterrupted anything about the Poser Top 25. Ookami..twisting the truth is not helping you to quiet this down..it just makes me more mad! And since I'm not Bast ..I have to ask YOUR permission first before copying and pasting YOUR email reply to my first polite request so others can see if you said that I was deleted or rather that there is no unsubscribe process and I'll just stay on the list till eventually dropped off by no hits! Glad to see you finally found a way to delete me off your database after I became mad with your denial! :o) I just feel sorry it had to go this far before you realised that what I was asking for was a right of mine, and you had no right to ignore it!

I had seen reference to this link earlier, but never visited it until now. I am VERY thankful this thread has caught my curiousity. I am always looking for good poser sites, and most on this list I already had bookmarked but I did find a few more. I have bookmarked the site and will visit often. I will certainly vote for my favs. I am sorry for whatever happened between renapd and ookami. I have enjoyed the work of both of you. I can't understand why renapd had a problem being on the list, especially considering the company she had there, but I do agree that if she wanted off, she should have been taken off. I also understand where ookami is coming from. I have been there myself. So why don't you both hug and make up!

For me, the rating has nothing to do with the quality of the site. It does not help me much. Having a list is very usefull but having a rating is a contest for me and I believe that every artist on this site deserve attention from user like me who did not produce nothing yet. I recognize the hard work from those artist known or not. This list will only show the top 25 and not the other ones.

That is a very valid point. I wasn't thinking about the rating. Just the list of links. Why stop at 25?

Hmmm... I could increase it... something like the Top75 or something... It would just take a little more work....well... ok... maybe a lot more work... =)

OR... I just thought.... I could have an option to list ALL sites on the list. What do you think?

Well you all excuse me if I was kind of delayed to reply back, but I do live in the other side of the globe and I did have to catch some sleep! :o) It's 8 a.m. right now over here.... Ookami, I have nothing personal against you either..I'm not a troublemaker, all I wanted was my right to get off and since you finally let me exercise it..there's no issue for me anymore! So relax because I get rough only for as long as I think I've been done injustice! :o) [HUGS] from me too! :o) I think that NITREUG has explained quite accurately the reasons I asked out for! I don't like turning Fairywoods into a contest, luring visitors to vote rather than kick back, relax and enjoy downloads! Originally I though it was going to be a database of ALL poser sites which same as RWILLIAMS sounded an excellent idea to me! In that case I'd be proud to participate... Having an option to show other sites is not suitable because most of the time, people like me will never use it. If you look at Animation Master site (url: http://www.hash.com/links/users.asp), you will have an idea how they list all their user sites. Claude
