THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Smartpipe Suggestion...

I was thinking about this smartpipe thing and the way it moves so easily... How difficult would it be to create a Poser style figure - perhaps the wooden stick fella to keep things simple - to use in Bryce for say setting up scenes or scaling models - that works in the same way as the SmartPipe........? You could probably do away with a lot of the brain-banging that goes along with Poser if you knew exactly what you wanted in Bryce before importing a fully textured Poser figure.................

It's all about just creating hierarchies, I'm sure it could be done fairly easily if you know what you're doing, which I don't right. Good idea though, I hate setting up a Bryce scene with a posed figure, then finding out I dont like it, and having to go through poser to repose and all. Cory BS

I started work on this but I had a problem only being able to set one linking origin point. It's weird cause this was my next idea, so you've goit some freaky mind reading abilties :P. If someone can make me a model from scrath that would be good, since I won't be allowed to redistribute the poser woody. I could always build a dude outa primitives but that wouldn't be as anatomically accurate as a woody type figure. Then i could add basic facial expression capability by adding two scaled down versions of the smartpipe as the lips that you could push/pull to get basic mood setting expressions. I might call it mock-up or mannequin or harlequin or something cool like that. For me the name helps me develop the product so if you have any suggestions i'm listening. To recap Ideas so far: 1. Woody-like posable bryce figure 2. Smartpipe for lips 3. Male and female versions To be determined: 1. hand functionality? 2. Level of detail? 3. Name? 4. Anything else i am forgetting?

You could call them MadMax and MadMaxine. :^) Or just Max and Maxine.

hehe...lol...i like it :)

Max: I wouldn't go as far as to make male AND female versions. Just a neutral would do just fine. Any way, I couldn't make it, I don't have that kind of skill. I just come up with the ideaa and let someone else get on with them....LOL. Detail could be as simple as-u-like. But remember, Creepy Clown featured in loads of renders and he just STOOD there...! As for 'Woody' as long as it was not an exact copy of the the Poser Woody, you can do what you like. As with smartpipe, it would be a tool, not a replacement for Poser charecters.

Glas (in the Rhino Forum), made an Eve and Adam, looks sorta like the crash test dummy. There is a Bryce 5 version, maybe it will do what you want.

There are a lot of things worse than dying, being afraid all the time would be one.

Without having poser, and not being able to afford it, I personally, would LOVEEEEE something humanlike I can put in some of my bryce pics...the idea of having a "Brycer" is fantastic!! Looking forward to seeing something! Jen

right now I have something called fred. Its name is fred. It is made of spheres. Is has two legs, two arms, joints, hands, 5 fingers, and no toes. I have him all liked and I am adding handles to make movement easier (in the smarpipe tradition) It is going quite well and may even be done by tomorrow if i stay up late enough ;-)
