Yes Jim you can do this.. somebody did also the UVS of V2 for the Maya model.. buy I can use DeepUV to make exact the same UVS as V3 using the P4 female model..so you can update later the old geometry using UVmapper..and use V3 textures with standard poser models. Yes you have right illusions but Jim offered a option to make one version using only new morphs and cr2 files + new UVS for update the geometry.. if you know you can update the geometry subdivide and will still work with the cr2 and UVs.. so maybe minder frustration but more work with the new morphs. I will see if this works fine so everyone can download and test self when I am finish.. ------------- Jim I mean about calling me Mec4D in your replies..sounds official..as you don't know that I changed my member account while ago :P Cath

I really don't know why... but I like the idea of enhancing the old (lower poly) charcters. They have much unused possibilities. Poser 2 female isn't that bad for a background character, isn't she? And with a good texture, displacement maps, morphs....?! @Mec4D: Really like your work! :-)

Xtinction made a couple of good textures for the P2Fem quite a while ago. They were in freestuff here, but not anymore.

Yeah, I thought there were still some P2 textures around but I couldn't find any. Kjellil's Poser 1 &2 page doesn't work anymore - not that I expect there's a whole lot of demand. Cath, I hope you choose the V2 mapping. There are more nice free V2 textures available than V3 at this point. There's also the low resolution figures that Geralay made. They probably compare in polygon count and may be even nicer than Polly.

bip77 is that Polly? looks cool :P lmckenzie good idea.. and this is more simple to turn the old mapping to V2 as to V3 in any way. When Daz give for free the V2 and V1 textures I sold there before so you will have more free stuff... they will do this in the first days of October.:)

Yes, it's Polly. I enhanced the contrast of the standard texture, put the special skin material into the alternate diffuse node (Poser 5), used raytraced shadows, standard poser light (light 1 and 3 no shadows, light 2 raytraced shadows). Now I'm only missing some expression morphs...

bip77 what do you think about new head shape for Polly ?

just using morphs without to change the geometry :))
her body shape remind me of V1 and poses works great too..

done just for fun..

Mec4D, this is great! Yes, I want her, too! How about some "eye blink", "smile" morphs? And I agree: At least for me it's much more fun to work with the older characters. I feel more creative - maybe because they are not so "perfect" like the M's and V's...?

Mec4D ( ) posted Mon, 29 September 2003 at 7:00 AM

Yea they are simple.. I remember we had more fun with the old models before and all was more creative.. today everything looks the same and don't think that M's or V's are perfect.. remove all the morphs then try to do something unique this make more fun as just injection. If you don't work on a big renders for a magazine you really don't need a huge models.. and the simple models can looks more realistic as any other without to big frustrations.. The one problem with Polly is that she don't have really eyeballs ...so, making morphs as blink is not good idea.. I try already you don't want see the result for sure :) But Poser4 female with new morphs will looks cool and this working fine what I did right now with the new cr2 file.. when I am finish I will make only the UV update for the geometry so everyone can update own copy with new UVs without decodes or copyrights issues.. and you can use the new cr2 for the new P4 character... you get something as V1 but in low version and for free.
