This upcoming Millennium model will be a stand alone figure created from the DAZ Unimesh valued at over $60! Isn't anyone going to take a guess? Love esther

What email. I didn't get an email from DAZ.

redon634 ( ) posted Fri, 26 September 2003 at 6:43 AM

I got the email and it's supposed to be a new figure created from the "unimesh", so it's likely to be humanoid anyway. A new Stephanie would be nice.

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Fri, 26 September 2003 at 6:43 AM

Based on the preview silhouette and font, I'd guess: cyclops.

Well, I guess it depends on how you interpret the promo figure. Is the mystery figure the hulk or the lady or the little creature about to be eaten, or a morphing rope (relative to the Daz cube)? And how many will I get since I still seem to have 21 downloads left of Michael 3? I'd better clean out my hard drive. :)

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Fri, 26 September 2003 at 7:27 AM

Ooooooh Methink that looks like the long awaited hulk-like giant! Unless of course it is, a s dialyn says, the lady or the little critter (isn't that mousey though?) I wonder why I haven't got that newsletter though, but perhaps they're still mailing it.

is that the mouse or the millcat? hmmm..curious that is for sure...too bad it isn't a Steph 2, I like Stephanie and agree with the above, she deserves another turn...

SnowSultan ( ) posted Fri, 26 September 2003 at 8:49 AM

I think Little Dragon is right, I'm guessing a cyclops or an ogre. Maybe this will also satisfy Mesh's wishes for a massively muscled Mike 3. :) SnowS

I do not speak as a representative of DAZ, I speak only as a long-time member here. Be nice (and quit lying about DAZ) and I'll be nice too.

Redfern ( ) posted Fri, 26 September 2003 at 8:51 AM

Hmm, the lil' critter (soon to be a crunched critter) looks more like the Mil' Cat to me. I initially thought the mystery figure might be the behemoth, but it's just possible the whole image is a red herring. Then again, DAZ had the Mil' Dragon quite literally staring us in the face (the famous eye close-up) when they dropped hints then. Aw, hell! I don't know I would normally make my routine joke about wanting a Mil' quality anthro' character, but between Daio's Felis Sapiens texture set, the built-in morphs for V3 and Little Dragon's experiments to create a hybrid using V2 and the Mil' Cat's head (and his "Furrette" V2.0 later this Fall), I'm pretty well satisfied in that department. I guess we'll find out possibly next week. Sincerely, Bill

I'd rather have a dog than a hulk, but that's been true all my life.

randym77 ( ) posted Fri, 26 September 2003 at 9:10 AM

If that's the mystery model - yikes, it definitely looks like it will be able to kick M2's butt. :-) I'm just wondering if the distribution will go more smoothly than the boots did. Will it come with another 15 M3s? I still have those extra M3 downloads in my Daz account, LOL!

I know most of us got the email, but I thought I would attach this image for anyone who didn't. :)

It looks like some kind of ogre or hulk to me. I'm pretty stoked. It looks like it will be great for fantasy or superhero renders. I hope its a morph target for Michael 3 rather than a seperate character like Grim. That way we can scale his musculature all the way from normal to hulking.

:)

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Fri, 26 September 2003 at 9:29 AM

Yeah, I want another 18 M3's. And possibly 15 new pair of boots as well. But most of all I wan this new mystery model :o) NOOOOOW! And I checked my e-mail once again. No newsletter :o(

I got the email too, last night. Whatever it is, it's that big boy. The others are Stephanie and the House Mouse, both Big Secret Bonuses.

SAMS3D ( ) posted Fri, 26 September 2003 at 10:12 AM

Oh my, it could be the Hulk.....how totally cool would that be. Sharen

pdxjims ( ) posted Fri, 26 September 2003 at 10:20 AM

It's the Millenium DOG! If you look carefully at the promo, what looks like the giant's arm is really the dog's head, and the female figure (at the right angle) looks like his ears. Wow! Talk about morphing the mesh! OK, I know. But I WANNA PUPPY!

JVRenderer ( ) posted Fri, 26 September 2003 at 11:10 AM

V3 wasn't too thrill with M3's smaller appearance, so I think DAZ is trying to compensate with M3XXXL. :D

A standalone figure based on unimesh....hummmmmm.... there goes my runtime folder. gunna have another billion inj files. GEWD I can't wait for Daz Studio to end this nightmare. gripe whimper whine free is very cool, look forward to having another figure. hmmmm maybe soon would be the time to recreate that secquence from Heavy Metal the movie with Capt. Stern haha.

xoconostle ( ) posted Fri, 26 September 2003 at 11:43 AM

If you check the Michael 3 product page, you'll see that it's not scheduled for release until November. Patience, friends... :-)

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Fri, 26 September 2003 at 12:47 PM

xoconostle is right, it will be a long time before we are given any solid hints. There was a lot of requests over the summer for hulk-morphs for M3 so that is one possibility. I seriously doubt that it will be Steph for 2 reasons. First, DAZ already created a female figure from the unimesh so she would be redundant. Someone mentioned in a previous post that many of the features used to make Steph were incorporated into the unimesh. Second, there would be an injection morph issue. Would she have 20 pose folders of her own or have limited morphs built in with her?

Its Chunk from the movie Goonies :P

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Sat, 27 September 2003 at 1:38 AM

Dialyn, I just re-read your comment :) So true... a lot of us don't do fantasy type stuff. But even if its a giant or hulk, you can at least scale down and find other uses for it :)

mickmca ( ) posted Sat, 27 September 2003 at 10:39 AM

I figure whatever it is, is better than nothing, so I put down my money for M3, even though I use M1 never and M2 seldom. But I'm w/Dailyn. I want a dog. Soon. The ToonPuppy is Ok and all that, cute as a button, but he looks pretty silly in Conan the Barbarian dogbody armor. M

elektra ( ) posted Sat, 27 September 2003 at 2:50 PM

A Hulk type character would be kind of cool. But if I had my druthers, I also would not mind another incarnation of Stephanie. I like her. Another vote here for a Millenium Dog to go with the Cat. I also would not mind a Millenium Wolf. One that has some good morphs for the different body styles.

I'd love it to be a Stephanie 2. I know they said they weren't going to do that though, so it's probabley thyat big guy...though personally, I'd prefer to hold out for Wyrmmaster to work his magic on M3 and have all the stuff be compatable.

shante ( ) posted Sat, 27 September 2003 at 10:09 PM

When Mike 2 came out DAZ released a figure....or shall I say...A GIANT OF A FIGURE....called GORN. Very cool big fella. Good skins and scars and face MT. Nice loin cloth and clubs and with a bit of fudging all the Hair and Beards and accessories for Mike fit Gorn. I use him a lot in my renders. Maybe this is a fill gap BIG hand/Big foot/ Big body version for Mike 3!? Looks like it might be from the promo above. I agree too with the MilDog. Greatly needed though Lynn has given us quite a few greatdogs for free.

DraX ( ) posted Sat, 27 September 2003 at 11:41 PM

Actually, Gorn was a brokered product created by Sharby, and an excellent one at that :)

hauksdottir ( ) posted Sun, 28 September 2003 at 6:06 AM

There is no need for another guy with muscles glued on top of muscles. However, there is a need for a nice fox, skunk, badger, marten, sable critter (with geometry switching or morphs) enough to fill a forest with bright inquisitive eyes. Carolly

mickmca ( ) posted Sun, 28 September 2003 at 7:40 AM

Carolly-- A vote for that. I am so tired of super models and comic book men. A nice Badger. European, with a taxis taxis morph. But yeah, the freebie looks like another entry in the "family-oriented comic book" world.

elektra ( ) posted Sun, 28 September 2003 at 8:09 AM

Carolly - here's another vote for more critters. Fox, wolf, badger, wolverine, marten, sable, deer, lions, and I think I could probably keep going. :-)

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Sun, 28 September 2003 at 12:13 PM

I do agree that more critters would be welcome but there is a need for big muscle bound types as well.

mickmca ( ) posted Sun, 28 September 2003 at 12:29 PM

This must be some new definition of the word "need" that I am unfamiliar with. ;) M

dialyn ( ) posted Sun, 28 September 2003 at 12:34 PM

Well, what is a "need" for one person may be "needless" for someone else. Some people do more hulk figures than others. I don't know why but there it is. What I really want to see is that puppy in Conan the Barbarian dogbody armor. Now there's a market largely untapped!

Penguinisto ( ) posted Sun, 28 September 2003 at 12:41 PM

"However, there is a need for a nice fox, skunk, badger, marten, sable critter (with geometry switching or morphs) enough to fill a forest with bright inquisitive eyes. " Nah, you couldn't put a sword on those, and their breasts are WAY too small (there would be eight of them apiece, tho')... :) /P

elektra ( ) posted Sun, 28 September 2003 at 1:44 PM

I'm also noticing a real lack of warrior/armor type stuff for Ichiro and Koshini.

hauksdottir ( ) posted Mon, 29 September 2003 at 12:50 AM

Pengy, If you'd ever seen a badger up close, you'd know that a sword is superfluous! Those critters are MEAN. Big teeth and strong shoulders. They hiss, too. I once saw a trio in Sequoia National Park, waddling up the road, and they knew that they owned the place. Carolly

Momcat ( ) posted Mon, 29 September 2003 at 4:48 AM

Guess they'd never met a dachshund, lol. I hope that Mildog is
ready soon >^_^

hauksdottir ( ) posted Tue, 30 September 2003 at 1:06 AM

What is a dachshund going to do? Whip one to death with its tail? ;^) There is a substantial size difference! Carolly
