The child stone actually had a long list of names on both sides. The photograph was taken only to show the child statue and not the list of names. I wish I had taken more shots of the stone itself. Among all the "adult" statues, this was probably the one that stood out the most. Of course, there's also that really weird statue of Marian Adams called "Grief," concealed with trees, unmarked, and not easy to get a good photo of. This was taken in the 1970s.

The hoode monument is exquisite, tell me-are these photos yours,I mean-did you take them yourself WHBOS-and are you offering these wondrful images to the forum on a royalty free basis? -Because I'm particularly interested in the hooded piece-it does set a nice ambiaunce...

Yes, I took them and yes anyone who wants to use them is quite welcome. Although, I had to reduce the resolution because I was getting error messages when posting. I have a lot of cemetery photos. Some need touching up especially from the dusty old negatives that are a little old.

Excellent-Any new - or old qaulity pics for that matter would be extremely helpful. I was wondering - do you have any currently that you've examined that might be UNIQUELY suited as background material-in other words, any that might give more of an illusion of distance, depth, and dimensionality-any that are particularly perspective oriented? Just wondering-and THANK YOU most definitely for these wonderful pictures-they are MOST appreciated my friend!

I like these because they set mood and establish contrast.

I have a few cemetery photos on my genealogy site at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~wboswell/cem_page.htm if you want to see others. Some of these same photos are there as well. As far as photos that give the "illusion of distance, depth, and dimensionality-any that are particularly perspective oriented," probably the majority of the cemetery photos I have were taken at Congressional Cemetery. I do have this one sort of interesting one from Rock Creek pictured below.

YES-actually that's an excellent example because if you'll look carefully-the foreground and background are evenly balanced so that the foreground of a Poser Render can be blended well into the background without sacrificing background detail.Very nice picture for renders.

That 'Grief' statue is wonderful! I found it so inspiring I made an attempt at recreating the spirit of it in Poser - the result is far from perfect, but if you're interested, you can find it at the link above.

Thank you back! And I know ALL about being woken up by dogs - we have four, and 6.30 am is when they want to get up, every day! They just don't understand about weekends and lie-ins...

Mugsey ( ) posted Sun, 28 September 2003 at 9:48 AM

No they don't-this Pug is my adopted child-he throws a fit if I'm not sleeping in the same room he is sometimes. Pugs are considerable work, but you cannot help but absolutely love them because they melt you heart with overbearing cuteness,LOL.
