Subject: Sizing down M2 or M3 hands, help!

Trying to create a younger M2 or M3 character and having a similar problem with both in regards to hands not sizing down, (approx 90%), uniformly. The problem I'm having is the fingers "shifting" off to the side as if they aren't lined up to their "sockets' on the hand. Any suggestions? -jay

Normally they have to all be done to work .. The digits get messed up but they right themselves as more digits are scaled. M3 works better than M2 in general ...

Thanks Ghost. Yeah, should have made myself more clear. I tried resizing everything, hand digits and working both ways from hand to digit and digit to hand and got the same response of misalligned fingers. Know I'm missin' something here but just can't figure ou what... -jay

It doesn't work perfectly but should work fairly okay on M3 ... Unfortunately the only way to get perfectly done smaller hands is to red the mesh. You can also try scaling the body up to 110 percent and then scaling everything except the hands down to 90 percent. That works a little better sometimes.

That would make the hands bigger - you'd want body 90%, everything except hands 111.1111111111111111111111%.

Ack .. Sorry, that is what I meant. Normally people want them bigger and I am at work and doing 47,000 things. Was burning a cd when I responded ;).

the joints get all ferblungit when finger parts are rescaled. YOu can try jiggling the joint settings if you're brave

Hey, I saw a little utility on 3d Universe that may help, although I haven't tried it. From the description it sounded like maybe it would help you here - it's in the freestuff section over on www.3duniverse.com.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. Still struggling and "hacking" at it. FreeJack, the utility looks great, as all Dark Whisper utilities do, ( why else would Daz want to buy them out.) The problem is that I'm on a mac, and they don't work for Mac. thanks again everyone! -jay
