Subject: Making very short hairs with spot node

Here a fast method for making very short hairs without using dynamic hairs or painting a bump map. The hairs doesnt look bad, especially in not too near shots.

Here the settings. Does someone have suggestions for inverting the output of first spot node without copying it? Excuse my English, Im Italian

That's really cool, Marco, thanks :) You could also use this underneath a really short bowl cut, it would look very effective.

Cool! To invert the map, just use a negative value for ex. "Ttansparency". (-1) You could also use "Displacement" instead of "Bump".

Or you can use a Math_Function node to invert the value, as shown above.
