lighthouse.jpg
incorporating the original fresnal lamp.. built to scale (136 steps, 115 feet tall) its as close as you can get without actually owning one :D
built from scratch of course, meant to resemble the pigeon point lighthouse in southern california..

watch for it soon in the special interest section at the daz store... i really loved making this one.. i hope you enjoy it as much as i did..

that looks pretty darn decent... do you have any others already completed ??? Is there a light keepers house that can go with this ?

There's a lighthouse at Marin (Pt Bonita?) which actually has functioning gargoyles for waterspouts on the roof, and a fresnel lens, too... but it is stubbier, not as tall and elegant as this one. Nice job! Carolly

Beautiful model, your attention to detail is fantastic! I've seen lots of requests for good lighthouse models during the past year, so I hope this fine model will be very popular. It would grace any seaside render nicely. I grew up in San Mateo, California, and visited the Pigeon Point lighthouse many times with my family and on school trips. It's in Pescadero, which is about an hour's drive south of San Francisco, not really southern California. The website for the lighthouse says "central California." I always thought that "central" began somewhere south of Santa Cruz, but no biggie. :-) The coastline along that area is stunningly beautiful.

Talon, It's looking good. Are you planning on doing the surrounding buildings and fencing as well?

its in process to be accepted into the renderosity marketplace now... in the workings, i have the addon house, and fencing.. (as per your ideas & requests) i intended on making the house, but ya all just pushed me to make it sooner :) (render will follow shortly) they will be free addons to the lighthouse, and i have a way of making it free to those of you that purchase the lighthouse... i decided to keep it out of the package, due to file size, but to retain the "package" concept, the lighthouse will be a required purchase. watch for it here.. it will be up soon.. i hope :D as well as the lighthouse, will be my other creations - the lamborghini, the football uniform, and the weight gym.. in case any of you were interested :)
