Hello I would like to get a quality 3D female model for use with Poser 4, and high resolution body textures, but do not know which model is the best or most widely used. Any advice on this would be most welcome. Do all models include genitalia? I have seen a lot of images using Victoria V3, is this a commercial standard? How much do the best models cost on average? I am primarily a photographer, specialising in glamour work, but am looking to expand the themes to digital graphics. Thanks in advance for any assistance Lester Anderson

Victoria 3 is by far the most advanced and realistic female model out there. You will also find plenty of high resolution textures to use from various sources as well. I personally find DAZ own textures very good, but check out the ones from mec4d.com, zs3d.com and ByteMeOK (in the MarketPlace here) as well. V3 does not have much of genitalia, but there are a few third party add-ons to fix that. Haven't tried them myself, but you find them in the Renderosity Marketplace. Victoria 2 is not a bad model either, but in my own humble (?) opinion, V3 is giant leap forward. Make sure you have a powerful machine, with high resolution textures you will need it. A good thing with V3 is that the morph injection system lets you decide wich morphs to add to her in every situation. Takes a little time to get used to, but when used cleverly (i.e. omitting all morphs you don't intend to use) you can keep the filesize down considerably. And hence save system resources. A slimmed down V3 with just the necessary morphs can actually be smaller than a V2. Check www.daz3d.com for pricing information. Remember that you need the face and body morph packs as well as the base model in order to have a full product. Add a few textures, and you will have to shell out quite a bit of money... The DAZ Platinum Club is a good alternative for "Poserholics" shopping frequently at DAZ, it gives you 30% on all DAZ original products.

V3 is simply amazing and much easier to create really convincing characters with. V2 is great as well, but if you plan to do closeups and have a machine that can handle it I say get V3.

Hi Lester I'm a relative newbie myself but I find victoria 3 from daz by far the best female figure for Poser, Victoria 2 is also very good but not quite as convincing in more extreme poses. Both figures work well in P5 but i'm not sure whether you need Pro Pack to use V3 on P4. You'll need a resonably hefty system to use V3 with a good texture. Gen's are dependent on the texture you use, there is a good f.male genital pack called Generation 3 (not sure who it's by) available in the marketplace,it's used just like conforming clothing. There are some paticularly good skin textures also for sale here for V3, two of my favorites are "Ireland for V3" and "Neva V3" both are very realistic. Hope this helps

I'm not sure what you have in mind, but always remember support. Even if Vicki wasn't the best figure available... it would still be a good choice because of support. A commercial figure from DAZ tends to have much more support than commercial figures from anyone else. Most other figures are specialty figures... they're good for certain type of renders, and don't have continuing support (meaning textures, clothes, etc.). Stick with something you know you know is going to be around in a year or two and that you will be able to keep finding things for.

well as far as i saw things, i think Yamato's tweaks are quite good too (the tenten/cancan/ranran family), especially the judy+tenten or v3+tenten... textures are good too. also keep in mind that even with a lower polygondetailed body/character, one thing ca make a huge difference: rendering engine. i never was aware of that until i saw a close up of twice same character part both rendered in poser4 native engine and firefly (poser5) one, in the tenten tutorial of yamato. As implied in guidelines of gallery submission too, it seems that you also can have good results importing poser models into another 3d software, but if you plan to use only poser4, then i think v2 (or v3 if you have p4+propack, as you did not mentionned it) can be the best pick, with custom model/morph (such as tenten or tiziana/arduino works) provided you use very good realistic textures (BTsculptor has very good characters in marketplace as well as a tutorial about how to make your own textures) also as you state you are a photograph, i strongly advice you to learn as much as you can about poser4 lighting system, that is indeed frustrating but really need knowledge to achieve good work. i wish you good luck and i am eager, as us all, to see your new digital work soon here !

Another Vote for Victoria 3 here too. I got the mophs, hi res textures and she's simply fantastic. Check here, DAZ, RuntimeDNA and PoserPros for accessories, textures, clothing, etc. Heck check out the galleries here and you will see what amazing things folks are doing with Victoria.
