Hey I bought poser after looking at some images here. Thought I'd check it out but unfortunately I bought the download versions. Dunno don't ask me. I was drinking a bit and thought I was hot stuff to get past the pc/mac dealy but there is no way I can dl it. I'm on 56k. The first dl is a hundred hours plus for me. But the problem here is that they don't respond to my cries of OMFG dude, I made a mistake, I need the hard copy version I'll pay more etc. It's been 3 days now and they haven't responded. $200 plus is a bit of change for me atm. Especially if I get nothing for it. Are these guys cool or what? Bastages have me sweating atm. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has done this. How the heck do I get them to respond to this? HEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPP!

Where are you? I mean where on the globe? You COULD try calling them, there should be a phone number somewhere on their site. Or you could see if you had a friend with a faster connection who could download it for you? Not sure if it's allowed but I can't see why not.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Call them. When it's important, don't rely on email.

Oh dear, I guess the moral here is not to pay out $200 without checking what you are actually paying for. Try ringing them up, or if you really can't then a letter will at least reach them. Good luck.

Your 3 days included part/most of a weekend, since it is only Tuesday. They are located in Santa Cruz, CA. 831-462-8901 phone 805.462.8925 fax They have email and a website, too, but the phone is perhaps the fastest way to resolve this. Carolly

Moral of the story?: Never drink and shop

LOL Yeah I here that. I'm going to call them later on today. And tomorrow, and the day after that etc, if they don't respond. I'd like to say I'm going to put foot to azz but I'm afraid the only tough guy stuff I know is the junk I dream up. And, well, really I'm at fault here not them. Gah!!!! I feel like an idiot atm. Frankly I'm amazed at my ability to screw things up. Never ceases to amaze me really.

Woot they responded! They can't change it in their system so they canceled the order to let me order it again. Which Im doing atm. Phew nice guys. Made me sweat a bit but cool people never the less. Thanks for listening to my ravings and trying to help me. POSER HERE I COME!!!! RAWR!!! :O)

Just for the record for anyone else reading this message. In regards to the 56k modem: Poser 5 installer CD is slated at just under 15 hours to DL Poser content CD is slated at just under 15 hours as well This is for MAC and Windows My suggestion on something like this is to get a downloading application such as "Get Right". You can get www.getright.com for PC For MAC you can get "Speed Download 2" at www.yazsoft.com All the best, Joe www.3-AXIS.com

"In regards to the 56k modem: Poser 5 installer CD is slated at just under 15 hours to DL Poser content CD is slated at just under 15 hours as well This is for MAC and Windows" Some dial-ups won't let you be online that long-- my old dialup would scream and start cutting me off at 8 hours. Claimed anyting longer required a dedicated server. Was a bummer. My DSL is not all that much faster,17k max download, but it is 24/7. Emily

Hi Emily, That is where the downloading application helps. If you get cut off before the download finishes, it starts right where it left off the next time you do the DL. I use Get Right because I'm on a PC. It works really good. This has worked great for me in the past. All the best, Joe @ 3-AXIS

I actually used something a little tougher than GetRight for the huge CuriousLabs download. Set up about 8 channels and sucked that puppy down. When one dropped, it had 7 more to carry on. I wouldn't use it for normal site, but these were extreme circumstances. Can't even remember the name-- something very simple, like Fast Downloader. LOL! Using GetRight right now as it happens-- only app PW approves of so must be ecologically all right. Emily

If you're not upgrading from any previous version, and it's not too late, you may want to cancel your order. Amazon sells it for $140 with no shipping. At one time they had it for $50. Was a good investment since I'm one of the few (it seems) who hasn't been plagued with problems. And now back to lurking. I'll surface again in another eight months or so. Happy posing. :)
