I started off trying to make a quick blond texture for M3 for a particular render but I've gotten a bit obsessed with this guy. I think the face texture at least is one of the best I've ever done. I'm going to finish him up and make him available. First a couple of questions: 1. Would you be interested in this character (he will come with both high and medium resolution head and body textures) 2. Should I do some alternate textures (i.e. tattos, scars, etc.) and if so, what sort? Now the quickie Contest - He needs a name - so whomever comes up with a name for him that's not already being used for someone else product will get a copy of the final version. Fip hair, cylcorama - DAZ

He looks great! Some scars or runic tribal tats might be cool! I'm seeing him as a norseman, so I like Sven or Bjorn for names.

  1. Yes, interested! :) 2) Yes please. Scars would be great. A few delicate face ones, some larger ones around the body, as if he's a blade warrior of some sort. Perhaps one large facial scar that crosses an eye... Anything else you like. :) 3)Sylvian

I go with the others, some facial scars and body scars would be nice, and some light tattoos. That's a sweet texture btw! Oh, for a name....Finn sounds nice. :-)

the3dwizard ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 2:07 PM

Very Nice!! How about Devon

magickdanse ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 2:14 PM

Bono,Milan, Grier, Jeril I love him....I like less tatoos, maybe a little bit of facial hair..He's very nice :)

theodote ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 5:03 PM
  1. Yes. 2. Scars would be nice. Not too worked up over tatoos either way. 3. Gerard. He looks "French" to me, but I'd be willing to compromise with "Norman." Thanks for the diversion! Theo

One with scars'd be great. To add a rugged, "lived-in" look :) How about Neil? Or Zander? Or, to go with Raven, how about Hawke?

dolfijntjes ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 5:38 PM
  1. Yes I would 2) Yes not the big tattoo's that are all around something smooth MIKHAIL FORTUNE MASSIMO ILYA TREMAIN DARRION

pizazz ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 5:41 PM

He looks like "Darius" to me. Body tats only - don't ruin that gorgeous face.

ellemat ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 5:48 PM

Looks Nordic to me - Lief - Eric - Throm Very nice texture. You've done a great job on the subtle muscular highlighting. Too often its overdone.

PointLady ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 6:12 PM

I like his texture,it looks great. However if you do decide on scars or tatoos, I hope you give these as an alternative texture for the 'normal' for then one could make the choice themselves. He screams the name Bryan to me though. Bring him on in soon. Jan

RnRWoman ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 6:20 PM

How about also offering a chest hair option? Maybe a Brown or Auburn option too? :)

bknoh ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 6:32 PM

That is a great one, Daio. He looks a bit Nordic to me. yes, a nice eyebrow scar and maybe a body tatoo or 2. Hans, Spence, Sten, Olaf or Ollie. Diane

rasputina ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 6:33 PM

I always welcome tattoos, but scars would be absolutely fantastic. :) for a name how about Theoron,Aidan,Paccy.

Daio ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 7:16 PM

Any scarred or tattooed textures I do will be in addition to the 'plain' texture so you would have a choice. i am thinking of some Norse/runic inspired tats for one alternative texture and some tasteful scars for another. Lots of good name suggestions, it's going to be hard to decide. :)

I'd like to see a scar like the one Harrison Ford has on his chin - it's not large but visable and gives him a rakish look. I'd like to throw in the name Garroway - he looks indeed like a spear fighter. :) Irene

Turtle ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 8:35 PM

I think he looks great and I was hoping you would make a Mike3. Oh about the name did I suggest Frank yet? Duncan Orrin Rien Hathaway Gavin Alton Forest Stephen Frank Night Daio! :O)

Daio ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 9:27 PM

After much thought I have to go with Hawke - it seems to fit the character and is a nice match for Raven. So congrats JetM! Give me a week or so finish him up and I will make sure you get a copy. Everyone else - don't despair, I'll run at least one more contest with him. :)

JetM ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 10:00 PM

Well all right! How about that? And if you're still taking tattoo suggestions, would a stylized rampant hawk just be too obvious? Thanks much!

BastBlack ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 10:00 PM

Oooo, I love playing, "Name That Baby." :D Honestly, the very first thing I thought when looking your texture was, "Lestat." He's the main character in Ann Rice's Vampire Chronicles. His full name is Lestat de Lioncourt. He's French, regal, and very naughty. ;p You could have 2 textures for him: 1) Living (your texture shown above) and 2) UnDead (a pale Goth vampire texture with hints of blue veins and glowing eyes) And just for fun, you could even Goth-up the Pirate Pack for him too! That would be awesome!!!!!!!!! :D bB <--- who would love to have the wicked Lestat terrorize Victoria. lol ;)

Hawke...nice one, too! (I still like Finn, tho ;-) ) Congrats Jet!

randym77 ( ) posted Fri, 03 October 2003 at 5:34 PM

I love this texture. I would definitely be interested in buying it, since there aren't that many blond textures for M3. I'm not a fan of scars or tattoos on textures; if I want them, I add them in postwork. Name...hmmm. "Chay"

Lunaseas ( ) posted Fri, 03 October 2003 at 7:33 PM

Connor means "high desire" and I think would be apropos. I would love to see him with maybe some scars and a scruffy version.
