Subject: What are the best bargains?

Berserga ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2003 at 3:47 PM · edited Fri, 14 February 2025 at 3:26 PM

Ever stumbled across an item in the marketplace or at another site's store that you just think is an absolute steal? An item thatoffered so much more for the money than nearly any thing else around? After buying a few exceptional items yesterday, I thought it would be fun to share your opinions of what items fit this description. Maybe you will help someone find these gems that they may not know about. Here's a few to start with: Mask-Da's F-308 (Ferrari) $5 in the renderosity MP This thing is awesome! It is as good as any car model I've seen for poser, most of which cost 6 times as much. It is detailed and fully posable with ERC for some actions Like the front wheels turning) Quarker's Grace Lion Hair $9 absolutely the best hair I own. The morphs for motion are an animators dream. Dodger's JICC 3000: $2 Daz Platinum club. I almost bought this when it was $5 (IIRC) here at rosity, but resisted the impulse. $5 was already cheap, Now at less than half that it's a real steal and looks cooler than DAZ's own droid. OK folks, what are your picks?

To be honest.. Anything by Spectre3 is a real steal! his textures are just awesome and the prices are incredibly loooow! O_O

Ooh, great idea for a thread! I agree with you about Quarker's hair. They're all fantastic, and the prices are a steal. My favorite hair, better than hairs that cost four or five times as much. I also recommend qay's "Far Away" package. Lots of very useful props to make an environment, for very little money. They can be easily re-textured, adding to their versatility. I'd also like to recommend my favorite textures, which were $2.49 each at PoserPros. Cin's "Leanansidhe" textures, and Daio's "Drow" textures. Great for fantasy and SF, and very versatile. Lastly, I love kelc and wenke's "Occuli Serpentis" set. You get an amazing amount of stuff for the price, plus a set of alternate textures. And it has such a unique look -- sort of Mesoamerican.

Sixus1 creatures are cheaper at www.sixus1.com direct than they cost here at the MP. Addon's also.

can't say a word- some a-hole might think it's an advert.

LOL. I would also like to say very kind words for all of Quarker's brilliant hairstyles (Silky, Slinky, Grace). I barely have a use for female hairstyle, but his were affordable, looked good, and OMG! ....Wind morphs. 'nuff said. ;) For a large volume of quality products for a low price, memberships at both PoserWorld and Poserstyle are a real deal. DAZ Plat Clubs's Treasures of Egypt. I bought it when it was $49, which cost me about $100-149 for Egyptians, Treasures, and Jewels. Now you can get each item for $1.99. I was bitter about it, but when Treasures 2 came out and it only cost $1.99 instead of $50 if you were PC member, I forgot about being bitter. Life is sweet. ;) And I've bought 2 sets of Egyptian headdresses over at RuntimeDNA for $2.50 each! WHAT A DEAL! And one more thing, Castle Dev has several Egyptian furniture sets in the Renderosity warehouse for $6 including a chair that's nicely modeled, that sells for $300 less than a similar version of the same chair in TurboSquid! Another great deal for Egyptian items!!! Yea! :D bB

Where did you get the egyptian headdresses for $2.50 each, I only see the one for $9?? Marque

Berserga - I totally agree with you about Mask-das F-308. It's the first time I've ever bought an item that I had absolutely no use for! Knowing the quality of his modelling I was just facinated to see what I'd get for $5, and as you know, the answer is a prop that could feasibly be sold for three or four times as much. Outstanding value. - Graham Just been to his site and he's got free MTs for sliding the Ferrari's seat back and forwards :) http://mdp.s18.xrea.com/

Marque, I just looked for a link, and found RDNA now has theme sections. Here's Egypt: http://host1.bondware.com/~syydr/catalog.ez?TopID=32712 And guess what? They have new crowns too! YES! :D bB <--who's whipping out her credit card as we speak

Blackeyes 2.0 by black hearted. $10 in the rosity MP. IMO they are the best looking replacement eyes out there. (worlds better than V3's eyes) They support most characters and have a TON of textures. If you want interesting if not always practical clothing at a great price Batlab's stuff in the MP is great. I have the Ordinary Lingerie. (Hey I need it for my animation. --) and the PVC gear-A. Try combining that one with pieces of Daz's Princess Akkan Freebie (the boots and maybe shoulder pads) for a cool fantasy or space adventure costume. ^^

Poserworld stuff, PoserPros ProClub Stuff, RDNA Real Deals , & Daz Platinum Club I'm really fond of the RDNA Grasslands. $2.50 each pack and they help scenes immensely.

GAWD! Did youHAVE to say BARGIN? ::sneeks credit card from hubby's wallet:: Personally...I love ANYTHING by MnD ...I've been using Poser for what...a month?..and I think I have ALL their stuff already. Black Eyes..agreed...love those... I also really like Rio's Lillith character for V3, along with the V3Expressions kit...finally my characters are starting to look like they aren't brain dead. I've had to load up from scratch so DAZ membership has been a godsend for me as well as Poserworld, although getting around over there is kinda clunky. I guess I'd have to say Daz and PoserPro's are my favorite bargin places, but Renderosity always seems to have the best variety and interesting things so far.. ::checks limit and sticks card in floppy drive to see what goodies come out::

PhilC's newest creations at $1.99 (for an introductory week) are definately a steal. They are well-made, the mapping is great for texturers, and the clothes are extremely versatile. It helps to get on his mailing list if you don't automatically swing by his site each week. Currently he has a caftan (with sitting morphs!) that folks are busy making textures for. He offered an 18-piece lingerie set, and a martial arts set. This outfit included hair, hat, and shoes. The hat alone was worth more than a couple bucks! Carolly
