Subject: Need help!

Some time ago I was posting a help need message about the fact that Poser does not export .obj files as morph targets. So , I canot properly edit them in any external 3D editor. My actual request is for every people that can spare some of their time and help me : I need as much as you can send .obj files exported as morphs , especially the P4 Woman head , P4 Man head , P4 Raptor body parts , P4 teen head.My mail is at : vggdh@yahoo.com and class_1911@yahoo.com.If you can , send all the body parts for P4 Man , P4 Woman and P4 Horse. My copy of Poser does not do that in any way.I have installed and reinstalled it again and again , but the result is the same.So this is my only option left. The guys from MetaCreations have no ideea about this... Thank you in advance!Best regards!

But poser does export .obj's as morph targets see image. just load your figure then go to file>Export>Wavefront OBJ... click ok on the next window, on the Hiearchy selection uncheck all and check back the part you want to edit for example head, click ok name your file and then you'll get the pop up in this image de-select all and check As Morph Target(no world transformation) and you should have OBJ file ready. now it all depepnds on what program you are trying to morph in.

Oh and by the way, you should contact curious labs not metacreations.

Please note that it would be breach of copyright for anybody to send you exported OBJ meshes from Poser, unless they are stripped down to vertex information only. If anybody does send you such a file, it will not morph anything anyway since there will be no difference between it and the original shape.

Morph preparation is very important , It take me months to learn how to prepare model for morphing.....:D First, U should use the original obj file, not the obj exp from poser...cuz the model from poser sometime don't have the same verices with the original... Second, Use compose to Prepare ur model...using compose is not too complicated but it take time to understand it (compose is in free stuff, U will need java enviroment to run it cuz it is a jar file) Third, Import to ur 3d app If u use max, u should check scale 1000, rotate model in obj imp plug from habware if u use Amorphium, Imp and Expt ur model, then ReImp the model u exp from Amorphium, cuz Amor have a strange thing..it reserves all ur vertices ----------------------------------- ----Hope help-- PS: I can't remember where can find these tut...some is my exprience, but some is from some one else

Mattilis... What you say is probably right, but... I just can't understand a word of it. Would you mind writing in normal english and not in sms-shorthand? You are not on a 256 character limit here, y'know ;o) and it's a bit of a shame when you are taking the time to explain something to somebody, and then they just don't get the point. Remember not everybody here are native english speakers :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

Black star, You don't even need to check the 'As Morph Target' box. In fact, you're better to uncheck ALL boxes. I've found that checking that last box can cause problems. ernyoka, LOL. I speak a little bit of SMS. Here's a translation. 1. Use the poser stock obj files in Geometries. Instead of exporting (for example) a P4 fem you opened from the library, use the obj in Geometries. That way there won't be any changes or movements. 2. Use compose - I disagree with this point 100%. I installed a 40 meg JRE (java run environment) to run compose and it played hell with my computer, browser and anything else it got it's teeth into. Took me weeks to get rid of it and I had to re-install IE 5.5 from scratch. Compose may be a useful app, but it's not worth the hassle. 3. If you use 3d max and the Habware plug-in, import at a scale of 1000 and check 'rotate model'. Um.... I think the rest of it says that Amorphium reverses vertices, so you have to import twice. Sounds weird. mac

Thanks go to all hwo have tryed to help me.Excuse my SMS language...:) The message of mac seems the right one (I have Compose and has maded already the same bad stuff on my computer as for mac).I will try to use the .obj's from Geometry. At this I wasn't thinking!Let's hope it will work. Btw , I use True Space 4.0 for external editing. So , if you have any advices about that , please tell me. Thank you again!Best regards!
