This is exactly how depth cuing is supposed to work. It has been a feature since P4 (at least) and does still work with the P4 renderer in P5. In this respect, the manual is incorrect where it says that says that it shouldn't work in renders. Unlike you, I can't get it to work in Firefly, but (due partly to popular demand), depth cuing settings were added to the atmosphere node in the material room in one of the SRs. Bill
The one in the atmospere control is just for the FireFly Renderer. The one in the Display menu is just for the P4 Renderer. In the P4 one you control the effect color by the back ground color, wher in the FireFly you can have whatever backgroud color you want and set the Depthcue color in the controls.

I used Depth cueing in P5 then I render an image with large deep. The result showed a haze f/x I no before seen in poser. In manual says Depth cueing that not affect render output. But I got the effect in booth Firefly and P4 render but not with out Depth cueing. Is this a hidden feature, a useful bug or a new feature from some service pack?
