This is Thear, my new M3 character now in beta testing and coming soon to Renderosity and PoserPros. At home in a graveyard, dungeon or sewer. Keeper of the underworld, minion of Hades. Wherever darkness prevails, there is Thear. Character and texture package (clothes and props not included).

So lets have a contest or two.

Contest 1: Be the first person to correctly tell me about the referece on the headstone in the above pic.

Contest 2: Be the first person to correctly guess the number of head textures and number of body textures included in the package.

Post your answers/guesses here. Each winner will recieve the full package of Thear.

BTW, subscribers to my newsletter will receive a special coupon good towards the purchas of Thear at PoserPros. You can subscribe by IMing me with your email address, or by entering your email address in the guestbook on my artist page. Exclusive freebie in every issue!

#1: The reference is from Edgar Allen Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado" in which the main character (narrator) leads Fortunado to the family grounds of the Montresors "Nemo me impune lacessit", of which the narrator is a family member, through the family burial grounds and into the vaults of the Montresor family. "In pace requiescat" is the final line from the story. #2 Three head textures, three body textures.

pdxjims ( ) posted Sat, 04 October 2003 at 4:48 PM

Yikes! Looks like the Poe reference is covered, so: 4 head, 4 body. And he looks great!

AlteredKitty ( ) posted Sat, 04 October 2003 at 5:04 PM

Wow! Yay! I'm so impressed! I asked four college students about the headstone reference, and they just shrugged. Dave-So, you've just grabbed a free copy of Thear! I'll send you a link as soon as I hear back from my beta testers. And thanks Little_Dragon, SndCastie and Ravenism, too, for restoring my belief that literary types really do exist! No one has yet guessed the correct combination of textures though... Very close. Very close.
