Subject: Animation Render

japes ( ) posted Sun, 05 October 2003 at 3:50 PM · edited Thu, 30 January 2025 at 8:13 PM

I recently upgraded my computer so I could do a little work on an animation project that has been in my head. After reinstalling everything on my "New" computer I am having a problem. When I render a single "test" image everything looks great. The problem comes when I render the entire movie. After it spends all the time suposedly rendering the movie the finished product is blank, only the background. Yes I use "Current Render Settings" when I render. Any ideas

More input! Do you render as AVI, QT oder single frames? What version of Poser are you using? Do you have any options like 2D motion blur enabled?

Additionally, what type of scene are you trying to render. I'm having similar problems with scenes that contain very high densities of mesh information. Bill

Sorry. Poser 5 render as AVI No Motion Blur Bill, No this is a simple scene...no backgrounds. Essentially it is just a V3 morphing over "blue screen"

Did you use P4render or FireFly render ? I did not have problem for AVI with P4 render. It freezes with FireFly render. I can not use FireFly render for animation. Did anyone have this problem?

I used FireFly for both the single image and the AVI. Maybe I will try the P4 render...only thing about that is that you can't set a Bucket size in the P4 renderer. ..Or can you?

Well I used the P4 Renderer and it worked. Thanks Himico. Just wish I could set a bucket size for p4 renderer so I can take advantage of all this RAM I have.

Did you try rendering the animation as a series of images instead of AVI? I heard of problems when rendering AVIs that could be solved with an update of Windows Media Player. Just wish I could set a bucket size for p4 renderer so I can take advantage of all this RAM I have. The P4 renderer does not render in buckets, it does not require a bucket size parameter.

As we investigate this and a similar problem with ProPack renders, we have found that the P4 renderer on P5 does seem to do the job better. In addition Firefly under Poser 5 SR3 seems better than SR2.1. Bill

I have the SR3 and I agree it does a better job with the firefly on single images...just wish they would fix it for AVI. Stewer - I have the newest version of the media player also So I guess I will either have to suffer with the longer render time of the P4renderer or use single image and learn a quicker method of compiling images into video. Thanks All

I remember have similar problems at one point. I use Ulead video studio. It allows you to select a directory of still images numbered as poser makes them and creates an AVI in a matter of seconds.

Try to change your colorsettings on your screensettings from 16bit to 32bit color it worked for me.
