all started fm making a new tex for mason's BC model. I just think if I could re-map it to std P4's map.so I re-grouped the posette's hip & thighs parts to eve's grouping. the abv one was one of test versions.I map hd mapped new mtl for pubic hair. in second pic, when I trird to load a P4 body tex as refection map.I found the refmap is diff UV than a body's maping.may be I could use tis for detail mapping for gen's part. but how I make a template for refection mapping?

heyas; jack, the reflection map in poser always and only uses spherical mapping around the objects. you can't set it up to use something this particular. (at least, not in poser.) you can see this best on the fish, if you load no texture, but just a full strength reflection map of the fish's normal colour texture, you can see it just maps in all kinds of weird ways. :/

I believe that the current surface angle of each polygon in a scene, rather than its location on its UV map, determines how the reflection map is applied. You might think of it as semi-raytracing, but reflecting from a map rather than the actual scene around it. It will change with every pose, so there is no template for reflection mapping. (Or at least this is the illusion that I have been operating under and it seems to produce results as anticipated.) Someone had done a nice illustration of the concept with the object to be reflection mapped - located inside a sphere that displayed the reflection map. Anyone recall where that thread was? I'm not sure a verbal description will work well here.
