Well the blue reflective map turned way down (10%) seems to add a different look. Again this texture map is just a solid dark grey, no magic here, just adjust the object color, ambient to black, the highlight and reflective to white; I just filled a larger square with med (to electric) blue loaded this as a reflective map. use dropper to match colors for post work. mane is drawn in using the hair brushes...

This is really nice Lorraine, very noble looking. :) I have seen reference to "hair brushes" a lot around the forums, may I ask a stupid question...what hair brushes is everyone talking about? (sorry but I'm pretty new to Poser) Again, your work is very nice :)

Black Beauty or the Black Stallion, either way he's beautiful, and you keep making him look better. :o)

Thanks for the nice comments. Interestingly enough working on this "color" for the horse has me trying to understand the various settings and their combined effect more. There were hair and furry brushes which I downloaded, I still have the zip file and will look into the readme file to see who offered it. I think it is at a website or was on this discussion list a while back via a link. they are great! Yes I was a bit bothered by the eyes, I am adjusting the template for that, also the eyewhites need some work. I left the eyes brighter than I should have on this one...

I suppose the forefeet (front feet) have that whitish blaze deliberately? How about a white blaze on the forehead?

Thanks Lorraine! I hope you can find out who offered them that would be a big help to me!

Bloodsong made some hair/fur brushes--look on her site. They are usable in PS and PSP and work great.

:🤤: so when are you gonna stop playing with them and post some textures for us? (though i guess the technique does more work than the texture, in this case.) hey, cool hairy page, thanks chailynne! (look, i'm famous! ;) ) (sorry. :) )

I saw that too bloodsong!!! I am so glad you posted that url chailynne, I've been looking all over for some brushes for hair and fur and didn't really know where to start....this should be a good starting point!

Ok but how would I post the textures? I hate to be a dunce about it but I have no idea how everyone gets the files to download or where to put them....
