I can't do it :( I'm trying to texture a model by using the "select meshes" function. Since there are a LOT of meshes i need to scroll to find them. Everytime i hit the little arrow it scrolls like crazy, way too fast for me to catch what i want. How can i do this??

Help pleeaassee

Ctrl+click on the area where the mesh you want is located. You'll get a "short list" of the meshes that are under the cursor. If you want to select multiple meshes; do a Shift+Ctrl+Click and select the next mesh

Hi, is this your model? If not, maybe you can email the creator and they can help you out. I know when we made our ship that was one of the problems...it is easily solved. Sharen

If the model is from Poser (or is an .obj model with corresponding material file, .mtl), try running it through Grouper to group similarly textured parts of the mesh. It may make it easier to handel. Grouper can be found at the attached link.

And, of course I meant "handle" the verb, not Handel the composer... :)

As you select the meshes, make sure and put them into their own separate families. Families are independent of groups, and allow for much either selection later, for texturing or re-texturing purposes it's ideal...

well, Handel did some 'water music'..so it's not that innapropriate..;)

Thanks every body for the help. CTRL+Click works very well :)) The model is the HMS Vicotry by Hankster, one heck of a great model!! It's in .3ds format. LOL Hdel would go with that

I'm going one better that this...I've got the actual construction kit by Heller. Gonna take about a year to complete, it's got over 2000 parts in it....(I must be mad...)

Must be mad? Was there ever any doubt, ;-) Good luck, Bryster. I know how you feel tho, I bought a computer desk and when I sat down with all the parts and the instructions I thought I'm gonna need a heck of a lot more beer I thought for sure I was crazy, but I did it and it turned out fine. (And I didn't need more beer either, LOL).

The only thing better than good beer, is cheap beer. (grins)

If you use bryce 5,the textures from poser will import automaticly.unless you dont like the poser textures that is.
