I've often read thread on how can I make an .RSR for Poser from scratch. Of course P3dO Explorer is not the only solution but P3dO is and easy and quick way.

temp01.gif
1st case - You already have a .PNG file in your package. Click "Tools" | "Convert Rsr2Png". This is the Rsr2Png plugin that will mass convert your .PNGs to .RSRs (and the contrary). Click on ".Png to .Rsr".
Click OK.
You've now got a clean .RSR.
Read the Rsr2Png help file for a list of all options.

2nd case - You start from scratch.
2 solutions:

  • make a render with Poser with a 91x91 rendering viewport. Click on Copy picture.
  • make a picture in your favorite picture editor with a 91x91 size. Click on copy picture.
Then in P3dO click on "Image | Edit picture". This is P3dO's picture edit Windows. Quite easy to use.
    Click on Paste, then save.
You've now got a clean .RSR.
If you also have an Alpha channel : Copy the Alpha channel from your favorite image editor (a layer in PaintShop Pro or Photoshop) then click on Paste Alpha Channel before saving.
You've now got a clean Alpha Channeled .RSR.

btw One mistaken think I often read too is how can I fix blank .PNGs in Poser. The answer is 1st case (Rsr2Png) and click "Fix blank .Png". The "Fix blank .Png" only reads .PNG - so you don't need to fist convert your .PNG to .RSR - and only fixes blank .PNGs. P3dO detects if a .PNG is blank otherwise it doesn't do anything.

Probably the greatest single Poser utility ever made! I have used it for years and P3dO just keeps getting better all the time. Couldn't do what I do with Poser without it!

Thank you Veritas777, getting better and more free stuff to come I promise ;)

are we going to be able to use the greyed out option soon. I would like to be able to make PNG's / RSR's that are bigger than 91 X 91.

yarp ( ) posted Thu, 09 October 2003 at 4:11 PM

This option was supposed to be shareware that's why I grayed it. The reason was that letting everybody doing larger .RSRs could damage Poser (Poser isn't really suitable to large pictures), so I assumed that paying people would be Poser aware users. Then you don't necessarily want to pay for this and P3dO Pro is not coming in 2003 - but coming in January/Februray 2004. So I'll give it for free up to the end of the year, update will be available at Seno next week - drop me a line (yarp@senosoft.com) and I'll give you a notification mail.

i'd pay for it, P3DO is a great utility and if that is the reason it is greyed out I am happy for it to be available in the full version. Cheers Dave email sent.

Got your mail Dave71 Hi LilWolff, I'm working on 1.7 now. This will be a more Poser oriented release than the previous ones. Yep Mattilis, 91x91 is not. This was quite a surprised to me the first time I saw a larger .RSR.
