Subject: Texture Template On The Loose!

Okay -- I finally tried to create something on my own -- I bought the brycetech crocodile and then took a variety of photgraphs of real croc body parts and matched them into the template trying to create a photorealistic croc. The head turned out great, as did the back, but the sides are all smeary and stretched looking. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Would love to share this new texture and finally contribute something to the Free Stuff boards. Fred

I don't know much and I'm sure some who do will come along, but the stretching of the texture is a problem in the figure mesh, not the texture map...:>)

You might want to try using UVMapper. ;=]

if the original beast is mapped badly there is nothing the texturist can do to fix it. Usually only solution is remapping the beast.

Unfortunately I'm not that knowledgable. Guess I'll just go with what I have -- you would think however that Brycetech would be doing a pretty fair job of it -- maybe it wasn't meant to be tampered with. "-) thanks for the help. FRED

I can't imagine brycetech not making a good uv map. He's very precise and certainly has more technical ability than most of us. Have you tried e-mailing him to see what he suggests. It could be that there's a very simple solution, and he's a helpful guy. mac
