Hi all, I was browsing the E-OnSoftware Knowledge base and came across this little gem :) http://www.e-onsoftware.com/Download/Updates/VuePro/Vue4ProRenderCow.zip This seemed to fix the error issue when first starting the program. I'm going to now try to actually use (fingers crossed). Anyway- if you want to read the original thread: http://www.e-onsoftware.com/Support/ShowMessage.php?id=1064249463&stage=-1&chooseCategoryPage=&categoryName=&category=&subCategory=&superCategory= Regards, JB

JB, you are a saint, I have been posting on that support thread and had not checked it tonight....it works!!! Woop! :-):-)

Ya,

The E-OnSoftware support forum leaves a lot to be desired (too many jumbled threads to go through). It's one thing for E-OnSoftware not to post a link on the public site about any ongoing software issues (bad for sales) - but I don't see why they can't have a Members area that shows links to updates, and reports any issues with their products.

I've spent a lot of time digging for solutions when that time could have been used for more constructive tasks.

Then again, I'm sure the Developer's are busting hump to resolve coding issues.

Lol- the bad thing is that between my 2 PC's- my P4-3Ghz is rendering about 6 times faster than my P3-800 rig.

But hey- any rendering assistance is welcome!

Regards,
JB

For sure, well its weird not woring on one of my machines. They are all running win2kpro, but I think this one needs service pack 4 applied, that should do it I think :-)

I must be one of the very few lucky ones, but my RenderMoos work without the patch. I'm on a 2 computers network, main is WinXP Pro the other is Win2000 Pro. I have to say, that I installed the RenderMoos of both (Esprit and Pro) AFTER I did install the Mover 4 (on both). So really, I did install the Moos on Vue d'Esprit 4 Mover and Vue Pro Mover. Perhaps this made the difference.

Steve is great, but (I'll say it again) they need to have someone to answer the phones and tech-support over the phone. Being a "small" company is no excuse. -Tim

Do you highly recommend it? What, if any, are the noticeable improvements with any of your software packages (including Vue) or the OS in general? Thanks, Tim

Whenever Microsoft releases a Service Pack, I always make it a point to wait a few weeks to see if there are any issues (i.e Search Google and see what kind of problems are out there). SP4 has been out long enough that I consider it safe. My second PC is running Win2KPro has all the latest updates (including SP4, DirectX9.b). It's running in a .NET environment. Various Development tools, SQL Server etc.... No issues to report with Rendercow. Not sure about VUEPro because that is installed on my XP computer. Regards, JB

Tim, like JB had no problems, this update has been out for ages. Not sure on improvements, more fixes :) My Vue Pro is running on a win2kpro as well and agian no problems really.

Are you all also noticing faster rendering with 2 computers connected? My Rendercows worked right away and pretended sharing the rendering but result in time is only a couple of seconds (on a 5 min render).

Main computer: P4 3Ghz, 1 Gb RAM
2nd : Athlon 1.33 Ghz, 1,25 Gb RAM

Oh... forgot: both Win XP home

I cant get the Rendercow to work with my PIII 800. I tried running the cow manually but no icon or anything shows up. The strange thing is that it works fine on my main machine (a dual Athlon MP 2200). I tried the new installer but the same problem. Any Ideas?
