Hmm..., I didn't choose any colours, just using the default settings and too lazy to fix this myself. But then again, it isn't that much of a problem, really :-)
If you highlight over the area (as if you were going to copy it), then you would see what I see (the empty spaces are dark red on the black...a hideously hard combination to read for my eyes): This gallery is for Renderosity members to display their original 2D images for review, critique and feedback by other Renderosity members. For more Safari hijinx, try downloading a gallery image. Tommy mentioned it's a caching problem, but you'll probably find it only occurs here. Just as pages designed for Safari (e.g. those on mac.com) often contain css that disable Netscape, so pages designed for Netscape can contain css that disable Safari.
Hmm.., downloading no problem here, just click and drag to a destination folder.
I tried to download a gallery image to see if it worked & I got a file not found error message, wierd. Is it a Mac or Safari thing? (I'm not switching back to IE because lifes too short waiting for that browser to load a page). Ive never had that trouble with any other site before. Oh well, I guess thats one of the many price's that have to payed for being alternative.
Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone's neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what is that thing?
The Safari problem (spurious "files does not exist" error) has been reproduced by everybody but roobol. Safari can still display the images, and the "Save as" command still works. I agree with dialyn: there's no compelling reason to download these images, since they should remain under the artists' control. But Safari doesn't experience this problem with Marketplace images, indicating it's a server-side problem, rather than a client-side or ISP proxy-server problem. I admit that the Safari user base is so small that it wouldn't be cost-effective to deal with it yet, and if server logs register Safari as either Explorer or Netscape, there's no way of getting accurate numbers.
Hmmm...this problem cropped up a while back, and I thought I had fixed it...but obviously not for everyone! Thanks for the heads up roobol! I believe ShadowWind is correct about the personal preferences making things (links) invisible in some cases...I guess one way to fix it would be to try inline css style tags to override any preferences, just for that header box. I have just been teaching myself css recently, so i will give it a try...thanks all. :-)>
Mateo, with the current version click&drag-to-destination, control-click&save-as or right-click&save-as all work flawlessly. Dialyn, I tested this with one of my own gallery images.
Thanks for pointing it out roobol, I'm glad you like the new look. It's all done with mirrors, ummm I mean css...I think the link colours are still your own "set" link colours however...I tried to put .css a and a:hover into the box, but it changed the whole page and made it look kinda weird...working on it, although this look shouldn't be a problem really unless someone has their links colour set to that shade of blue....hmmm, I suppose that's a distinct possibility too.... :-)>
My pleasure, PunkClown. My colour setting are the R'osity default, so that was what visitors and new members presumably would be seeing, too. Thanks for solving this.
Oh dont get me wrong, I never download anyones art (no reason to).
I was just checking if it was a Safari problem as it is the fastest growing browser on the Apple market.

Mateo, I use 1.0 v85 as well, but downloaded directly from apple.com, not via a system update (still using good old 10.2.4). If it is a caching problem, it could be related to your ISP. I'm on cable via a proxy.
Safari is definitely no longer a beta. It is SO much faster than my IE... I'm not having problems though. And Dialyn, I download my own gallery images when I'm at work, so that I can use them as desktop patterns or whatnot. So let's not assume anything. ;)
