Corel said they will concentrate on Corel Draw, Wordperfect and their XML products in future. After the actual personal cutting down I see no real chance for a new Bryce at Corel. So we should do all that they sell the program to a caring company instead.

There's still a good cahnce that the petition will contribute to the survival of Bryce. The show of support from loyal users can serve to make the program attrative to potential buyers. Very few programs have users that are willing to fight for its survival. Personally, as an outsider, I think Corel's management has made a really bad move. (again) The products they're holding onto have solidly established competition (how will WordPerfect EVER challenge MSWord, and Adobe and Macromedia pretty much have a lock on 2D Art). Meanwhile, Bryce is a truely unique product. Even artists that use 3dMAX, Maya, Lightwave, Electric Image and other high-end systems use Bryce to produce terrains and sometimes even textures. Plus, 3D Art and animation is a rapidly growing market in general. People grow up surrounded by CGI movie and television effects, not to mention 3D Video Games. At it's price level, there is little to nothing as powerful. (the dvGarage 3dToolkit has more powerful modeling and post-production effects, but even with all it's tutorials, it's significantly harder to get up to speed than with Bryce. Also, 3dTK works best for animation, coupled with After Effects, effectively placing out of the same price point as Bryce) Schools, students and hobbiests could turn to Bryce as a low risk entry into the 3D arts, and as functionality is developed further, even carry it into freelance professional arenas. Anyway, there's my take. SAVE BRYCE !!!!!!!!!! (Not just for us, but for the profit of the company that chooses to incorporate it into it's product line.) Have fun.
