EXCELLENT website for ideas and details on flight suits, military flight jackets, etc. I'm looking for someone who may have a leather jacket suitable for re-mapping as a WW-II style bomber pilot jacket. I have seen some of the other leather jackets available but they seem to be designed or mapped wrong for a true brown WW-II bomber jacket look. The current Motorcycle jackets are in fact a style that was originated with the WW-II Bomber jacket. The Marlon Brando "Wild One's" movie shows more accurately this style. Many 1950's biker gangs were guys who previously were Army Air Force crewmen and used motorcycles as a way of getting the speed and danger kicks that they had experienced in wartime. (Love that adrenaline rush!) Cocco has also just released in the REN Store a classic style biker hat that also clearly shows the stylistic link to the original WW-II bomber pilot hat.

This is the style I'm looking for, and with the availability to map on specific historic patches, depending upon the Army Air Force unit a pilot was attached to. One can see that a "common" jacket style could be turned in to most of these military and police style jackets, so anyone making this could offer it in a variety of colors and looks, depending upon the character requirements.

Hi. I'm also very interested in an A-2 jacket, but I haven't found one yet. So I decided to trying making a texture for Mike's Dress Shirt (DAZ Clothing Pack 1).

It's not perfect, but this is what I have so far, available in Freestuff. It should be relatively easy to add patches using Layers in Photoshop. Different colors might also be possible through playing around with Color Balance in Photoshop. I could try this if you'd like, but it may take me a while - "real life" may keep me away from attempting anything creative for a couple of weeks. -Mike

Man, you are really talented to get that much realism out of Mike's shirt! Great job!

Thanks! I'm not really sure how much talent it took, though - just boredom, patience, and a whole LOT of luck! :-) -Mike

I just found this thread, nice work oidupaa. When I got the Biker outfit for Mike3 I had the same idea Veritas :) So, I'm working on a "flyboy" pack with a crushed cap and leather jackets. First one is from the 8th Air Force and the middle is an ex-Flying Tigers. There will be more of course since this is still a wip.

Hi, Jon. Thanks. I'm really impressed by your work too - great stuff! Even as a WIP, the possibilities for yours seem just about endless :-)
If that's the sort of thing that can be done with Mike 3, I might finally have to consider getting him... -Mike

I can't believe that with all the TONS of fighter and bomber plane models available, and with the popularity of Combat Flight Simulator, etc. that almost NO ONE has created a good fighter-bomber pilot Poser character! The one exception that I can think of is Sharkey's old P4 Pilot character. Still have him, but what you guys are doing is WAY ahead. By the way, Cocco just posted a Motorcycle hat in the REN Store and I have learned that it can be modified without the chain and hat strap. I was mainly interested in it because it otherwise has a great classic bomber pilot look to it and has the nice scrunched mission headset crease look as well.
