How make solid color backgrounds? I know how to get the sky white, but that's it. Thanks for helping the dummy. :O(

Hi Philywebrider,

I usually, in Vue4, click on the objects material in the material section (on menubar at top - looks like small balls in a row). A new dialog appears. Dubbelclick on the little window showing the material and you'll get the material choice window. Choose 'Basic' and you've got many choices there.

In Vue4pro you have the material also as a choice at a palette on your right. Dubbelclick it and the rest is same as above.

Hope this helps. :o)

Oh... I forgot to say that if I want for example a black background as a "render bg" I place a primitive cube and make it mat black.

Philywebrider - unless I misunderstand your problem, having got the sky to whatever solid colour you want all you need to do is select the ground in the world browser and press delete. Presto! All sky and no ground plane. Of course, if you want to be able to render shadows on the background, you would need to do something like Tiny's last suggestion instead.
