Subject: So how do you know if they're going to use any of the voucher at Daz

MeInOhio ( ) posted Wed, 15 October 2003 at 6:45 PM · edited Thu, 23 January 2025 at 11:36 AM

I saw some new items at DAZ. I have that $35 voucher. Some of the new items don't say that they are brokered for anyone, but they don't say they're a DAZ original either. Like that Army Uniform. If you get to the checkout page will it show if they are going to apply any of the voucher. Or does it not show up until you submit for payment? It would be nice if there was a page where you could go to see just the items that you can use a voucher for. I have a lot of stuff and it's not easy to find things that I don't already have that I want that are eligible. When they gave us that other voucher for buying Mimic, I lost most of it because I didn't use it in time, but like I said I couldn't find anything that was eligible that I wanted that I didn't already have. And I'm not that hard to please.

If you go to check out, you will see how much of the voucher will be used. Your credit card hasn't been hit yet when you get to that page, so it's a safe way to check. BTW: What army uniform are you talking about? (I can't remember seeing one lately.) Cheers!

MeInOhio ( ) posted Wed, 15 October 2003 at 7:15 PM

There's a brand new one that went up today along with some other things in the main store. A new hair and a zombie like texture.

milamber42 ( ) posted Wed, 15 October 2003 at 7:46 PM

The product code has a "b" on the end, so I think it is brokered. Since the $30.00 P-Club renewal voucher is only good for 1 month, I hope DAZ releases something soon.

MachineClaw ( ) posted Wed, 15 October 2003 at 8:33 PM

uh the $30 voucher is not only good for 1 month. the $5 PClub vouchers are only good for 1 month, then you get the next months voucher. the cyber texture (zombie), military uniform, and the new hair as well as the bat are all brokered. no daz original products up today. the $30 voucher, as well as the $5 pclub vouchers are ONLY good for Daz originals, and not for Pclub items either.

mysticwinter ( ) posted Wed, 15 October 2003 at 9:16 PM

huh? the pclub vouchers $5 are only good for one month, you can't buy anything in the pclub with it, nothing ever sales in any other area for $5 or under, so pretty much, you have to spend more money a month just to use the $5 I didn't know that.. once you agree to the $7.95 (I think that's it) a month deal, your locked in for a year right? If I would have known the above, I wouldn't have renewed.. guess I should have read the fine print better.. :o(

MachineClaw ( ) posted Wed, 15 October 2003 at 10:07 PM

somewhere there was mention that if you do the PClub monthly and cancel before the year then you have to pay $29, though I'm not exactly sure how that all works. Try asking daz3d sales with an email and they will give you the facts. oh and apparently I'm wrong. the PClub renewal $30 voucher appears to expire after 1 month. sucks great big smelly nasty grapes.

Dave-So ( ) posted Wed, 15 October 2003 at 11:02 PM

yep...that's why before I was asking all those questions..about the vouchers and all that, and trying to figure out if it was "really" worth it... There have been so few original items in the last 6 months... and nothing other than M3 and his offsprung products in quite some time... So yes, you have a $5 voucher..good on mainly nothing, which will expire before anything else shows up... A $30 voucher if you pay $70...and useable on nothing for most of the folks that were previous members...because we have most of the stuff we already want.... So I basically wrote off the vouchers... then you don't get the 30% discount on any brokered stuff...so anyone gets the same discount PC or not.... Most of the stuff that is going in the Special Interest is either dog old or mostly stuff I'm not interested in...I'm sure there are plenty of folks interested in some of that stuff..... Then The PC itself...$1.99 is a great price..but you actually end up paying a great deal more for the same product that is available in the premier section..just broken up into pieces....still cheaper, but don't foget..you've paid either $70 or $7.95/month.... I haven't renewed yet...expires 10/22///still very much up in the air ...although tyhere will be more to buy when Step2 is released..and I"m sure plenty more to buy for that free big guy... and of course..Daz Studio..although the core is supposed to be free anyway... I think its a hard decision to make.... It all depends on whether DAZ starts putting out their original items again, or continues to depend more and more on brokered items. To me it appears DAZ is concentrating on the large models and applications, leaving textures, clothings and addtions to brokers...which leaves us with much less items to use our vouchers on..... but its all good for new folks that are just starting out, I think

mysticwinter ( ) posted Wed, 15 October 2003 at 11:25 PM

sheeeesh Dave, where was all this logic a week ago when I was getting ready to renew wink

MachineClaw ( ) posted Wed, 15 October 2003 at 11:54 PM

my only hope is that there are 2 Daz Studio packs that are not free to make up for the lost money on the renewal. I could have boughten Step2 with morphs for the renewal and still been fine. maybe next year I'll have a different additude but right now I upset I just don't know if I'm upset enough to cancel my new renewal. I still have til mid nov to cancel for the 30 day return. I don't know if my HD needs anymore barbie accesories anymore. sorry, public rants are icky and now I've sunk to that level too. I'm done.

elgyfu ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2003 at 2:34 AM

I am sure that I got an email saying that people who joined the PC at the very beginning would get the $30 voucher even though we don't need to pay the start up fee this year. I can't find the email but can anyone else remember this or am I just being very hopeful?

Dave-So ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2003 at 7:32 AM

elgyfu...when the announcemet for renewal initially came out, or maybe it was the second one, DAZ did state that ALL present members would get the $30 voucher... I do not remember if it was for the yearly renewal or monthly, because when this thing first started, there was no annual renewal..just the monthly. Now they have changed this thing many times, and each time it ends up different... But at one time EVERYONE that renewed was to get a $30 voucher... I'm not sure if I saved those newletters..hopefully, but Ive been deleting them more recently...the mailbox gets too big.

Thanks Dave-So - at least now I know I am not going mad (though many would disagree with that!) I will email them to see.

rreynolds ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2003 at 9:21 AM

If you want to use the monthly voucher, do a search for "Original" and that will provide a listing of all DAZ originals, ranging from a few bucks to $60. There's plenty of stuff to use vouchers on.

Caly ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2003 at 9:32 AM

I wish the 30$ voucher was not limited to just a month. I already got M3 & the Mil Cat. :D

Well if you have already purchased most of the DAZ originals, a lot of which are PC items and vouchers can't be used, then it doesn't leave much :(

Point is, that without a Platinum Club membership you simply CAN'T buy all the neat stuff in Platinum Club. It's not like you can get it in Premier to a higher price. A lot of it is Platinum ONLY, which was why I joined. I was sick of missing all the neat stuff :o)

I agree about joining the PC club so one can get the neat stuff not other wise offered any where else BUT, many people have renewed because of the $30 voucher and if any of them are like me then they grabbed most of the original DAZ stuff already. ( Just for the record, I re-newed because I LOVE the PC :))

I found things to use the $30 voucher on and I'm pretty thorough on cleaning out the DAZ store. ;-) When I looked at all the DAZ original stuff, I found things I'd never seen before. As well, some things that used to be brokered were sold to DAZ so they're now "DAZ Original" as well. (MallenLane's stuff comes to mind, as well as some of Anton's stuff.) With all the neat stuff in the Plat Club, that alone makes it worthwhile to me. The $30 voucher and huge freebie giveaway were seriously happy extras. I definitely got $70 worth of stuff from the freebies alone, let alone the $30 voucher on top of that. Just my point of view. If it's not worth it to you, cool, don't renew. I think it's a great deal, though.

MachineClaw ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2003 at 5:24 PM

SteveK posted over in the Daz forum that Daz is updating the FAQ on vouchers so information will be there. Drop the ball and fix it later. personal observation that Daz has been dropin the ball a bit lately, with so many things in the basket maybe they should take a minute and get everything organized a bit better. People sick, juggling duties, babies being born, I understand all that, just seems like the Star is flickering a bit lately. I'm just a grumpy old artist, what do I know.

Dave-So ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2003 at 5:42 PM

Sometimes you just have to back up a bit and make sure everything is in loine..and I agree..DAZ needs to tdo that pretty darn soon... Its almost like they're getting caught up in the bombard everyone with everything, and quickly scenario...they're not watching what is going on....errors, cart problems, information going away, improper klinks, no loinks, downloading problems, installers not working, a lot of misworded and incoreect items in the store..etc etc... Slow down a bit DAZ...we love ya.....but :) and I was going to change those kloinks and loinks.,..but it has a good ring, soesn't it? Mush like what DAZ is doing...too much in a hurry...and not taking care of details.

Well, thanks for the tip about searching for "Original." It did bring up some things that weren't "DAZ" original's, but it was certainly a help. And thanks for reminding me about the DAZ kitty. I knew there was some reason I didn't buy that darn cat!. Between the Millineum Cat and the M3 bodysuit, I've used all $35.

AprilYSH ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2003 at 9:57 PM

i don't know if it got answered already in this thread, i'm just skim reading, but anyway, someone else in another thread suggested to do a search for "original" and it will turn up (mostly) the daz stuff :) also, i think some of the new stuff don't have the "brokered for blah blah" on it cos those brokers are new and their name graphic hasn't been created yet! when my first item came out there my name wasn't on it (and then they put the wrong name on it... lol)

There are some items that show up in that list that I was told you cannot use the voucher on. The Reinder and sleigh shows as a DAZ original, but apparently because it is or was brokered by MAV, the vouchers cannot be used. I raised this at the DAZ forum. We'll see what happens. It is very confusing indeed. Poor DAZ.....I think they are trying so hard to please everyone.....and probably will end up ticking everyone off! :)
