Subject: Files for Macs

Attached Link: I need to ensure that I can make these available to Mac users.

Hi folks I'm a little confused as to what is required to make my files available to our good friends who use Macs. I have reviewed the range of Aladdin/Stufit software, but before I purchase I would be grateful if someone could clarify. Many thanks, PhilC pcooke@philc.net www.philc.net

Phil: Stuffit Expander 5.5 will handle just about anything from the PC side (including most zips). Alladin also has a zip compressor available that will make zip files for Mac users who want to send .ZIP's to a PC user. .SIT is Stuffit's native format, but it will expand .ZIP and Mac BIN HEX, also. Alladin has a freeware expander available at their site for pc users who need to expand .SIT files. I use Expander 5.5 and have had no trouble with .ZIP, BIN HEX, or .SIT files that I've come across so far. -Jim Moore

Not here to answer :) don't have a Mac like poor Jim ;)) but I clicked on the link out of curiosity and just wanted to say that is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!

Phil, You can also get ZipIt as a shareware. Of more importance - you have to remember to run your Mac files through MartinC's MacConverter and turn them into PC files before you zip'em. And of course, if you have a PC handy I strongly recommend you test them afore you upload them here. jje

If Phil has a PC he can't use MacConverter. Only Macs can. If you zip up your PC files as normal, our Stuffit expander can unzip and we can convert the files. Don't spend your money on software you don't need, spend it on something fun instead. ;)

I went to look at what you're offering. Great stuff!

Thanks guys, So have I got this right? I only need to post zip files (created on my PC) and Mac users can un-zip using their own program and make conversions using the utility in the free stuff? PhilC

Yep .. For the most part we can open and convert stuff no problem thatnks to MartinC ... Can't do exe at all but mostly cool otherwise.
