Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 27 5:12 pm)
Using a redgold metalic at 30% on this one. Tried toning it down some more but that didn't work. Bumped it up and the image washed together. Playing with some other colors, maps, etc. I also use reflect maps a lot straight on the figures along with textures and transmaps and anything else that might make for a cool effect.
Better? Worse? I used a bronze reflect map at 100% on the filter with some red added. The Minion figure is not as pronounced as in the previous due to the increased brightness of the image - which tends to help the "lake of fire" look. I am still playing with settings, maps, and color combininations. Not sure what to try next. Maybe leave the fire and background as is and work on the Minion figure some more...what da think? Rob
heyas; would the rpdfire be renapd's fire? ;) i like the second one better; much hotter. fire does light things up. :) it does lose the figure, though, and make his glowing eyes glow less. are you doing this all in poser, or in poser and a 2d app? i might try using my 2d app and the alpha channel to grab the minion guy and try to darken him out while leaving the rest bright. or maybe he needs a dark aura, or maybe he needs to project forward out of the flames and cast himself into shadow a bit. his pose looks a little weird; you have him tilted towards the camera, right? his hips seem small and receeding into space, but his silhouette still makes him appear to be standing flat to the picture plane... making him look kinda big in the chest and dainty in the hips. you might try tilting him forward at a more pronounced angle, or trying another camera focal length deal.
Bloodsong, Just checked on the fire prop. You are correct. Thanks! And thank your Rena'! Okay I will leave the fire as is and work on the figure so more. So far everything is Poser. Will go as far as I can with the image there, and then try my hand at post touch up in Photopaint. That ought to be an experience. The only thing I have done in Photopaint, Poser related, thus far was write my name and smooth out some crumpled mesh. Talk about clueless - but I guess I will never learn if I don't try! Besides I have got to get talented quick, "the dragons are coming, the dragons are coming..." Thanks for the help. Rob
