Traveler, you have completely outdone yourself this time. I already used all your light sets frequently, but now I just may have to stick to your fake HDRI lights. Even without the reflections they look great. Can ya believe this is a Poser 4 render??? Yeah, Vicky's happy ;o). Thank you, thank you, thank you!! :oD Laurie Hair by Koz, tex by Daz, eye tex and face morph by me :o).

SWAMP ( ) posted Wed, 22 October 2003 at 2:01 PM

Laurie,Nice render... I didn't see anything listed as fake HDRI lights over at RNDA...what are thet called? Thanks,SWAMP

LaurieA ( ) posted Wed, 22 October 2003 at 2:11 PM

Poor Man's HDRI, and they're not in the lights section, they are in the Free DNA section. :o) And there's two sets now. Laurie

Blush Thanks :) Awesome Render! I was wondering if the cloud set was going to be useful to people. But the credit for the PM-HDRI goes to Stewer for his awesome python script and the People who made the HDR Shop program and Lightgen plugin. Without the tools, these would be impossible. :) I will be posting a tutorial and photoshop actions pretty soon, so anyone with pro pack/p5 and photoshop will be able to make these for their own photos. The tools do most of the work, LOL -Trav

Hi people a little help please, im running Poser 5, when you say - Delete all lights in your scene - how do you do this in poser 5, thx for your time.

KarenJ ( ) posted Wed, 22 October 2003 at 5:28 PM

Ford, if you do a search for ockham in the free stuff, you will find several python scripts including a couple of lighting utilities, one of which deletes all lights in the scene.

A big thx Karen,,, cya im off...

hauksdottir ( ) posted Wed, 22 October 2003 at 6:08 PM

Gee, I love it when a man blushes! ;) I have lights by a half dozen other people, but yours are the only ones I use. It looks like I should check out this HDRI stuff and perhaps upgrade a bit. Carolly

SAMS3D ( ) posted Wed, 22 October 2003 at 6:50 PM

WOW, this is great....gotta go get those lights. Sharen

Questor ( ) posted Wed, 22 October 2003 at 6:57 PM

***Is it only me?? **** No Ceba, it's not only you. :) RDNA recently changed their DNS to point to a named domain as opposed to the older url they used. You'll need to clear your browser cache and then head off to www.runtimedna.com in order to access the site properly. The older bondware address is now disfunctional.

sturkwurk ( ) posted Wed, 22 October 2003 at 8:04 PM

To make your image even better, download the nose plugs traveler made to take the glowing nostrils away. They used to be available at his own site, maybe they're at rdna now?

I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

ookami ( ) posted Wed, 22 October 2003 at 10:35 PM

Are these lights only for ProPack? Or can plain ole P4 use them?

igohigh ( ) posted Wed, 22 October 2003 at 11:23 PM

The people said "Give us light" and Traveler said "OK"

igohigh ( ) posted Wed, 22 October 2003 at 11:24 PM

ookami; they are P4 formated!!!

SAMS3D ( ) posted Thu, 23 October 2003 at 5:57 AM

ummmm, I looked at RDNA, where exactly can you get these HDRI lights? Sharen

RossoMan ( ) posted Thu, 23 October 2003 at 7:12 AM

Sharen, Just go to downloads section on the left and select Free RDNA. There the 2 light sets will appear.

SAMS3D ( ) posted Thu, 23 October 2003 at 7:28 AM

Okay, but I thought I looked there, maybe I looked under something else. On my way...thank you. Sharen

stewer ( ) posted Thu, 23 October 2003 at 7:41 AM

I am adding a link to the RDNA Thread, because if there is any feedback/suggestions/questions, it can be posted there so I can update the tutorial as it's a beta/work in progress, LOL. For those of you who don't want to do it yourself, I have 4 more packs of setups hitting DNA today :) -Trav. P.S. I will post the No-Glow nostril props too (I had forgotten about those Doug, thanks! :)

hmatienzo: If I didn't know better I would say that was a photo! Nice work!

uh i got but did not tested yet the poorman fake hdri.. i am still struggling to ever understand and assimilate the basics of poser ligthing, before/instead using ready-to-use light set without getting it in my mind... i still always look for tutorials, technical explanations, and step by step explanations about the keys of making good ligthing in poser.. so far i already got global illuminationadn fake hdri sets, but i rather save them for later use, i like to UNDERSTAND what i use as a lazy guy before allowing myself gettign lazy :) (i still ry in envy and wonder in front of most japanese website's artists who never use postwork or little/compositing, yet look liek they have a poser version i do not have :) anyway i doubt global illumiation or hdri would get along with my slow/little computer and my wild habits in renders (really big ones, using the make movie trick to bypass poser limitation). I now found a firm which can make it real provided i supply the image file: 1:1 live scale poser.. i will take a tenten or something cute for one of my room's wall :)
