So what do YOU want in DAZ|Studio? The moon, the stars, and the sun. A "Make Art" button that makes my stuff look better than all the Old Masters put together. The ability to do everything Maya and Lightwave do, but better, faster, and for 1/100th the price. And I want it now! Maybe I should sober up before I wander over there! ;-}~

Realistic looking hair - at least ideal for Fuzzy and Furry Little Dragon characters and Anime Dolls! Here's hair that goes with Bushy Tail 2.0- and the source code is right on the web page. They even state you can download it and run it yourself! (I would assume, however, this DOES take some programming skill, which DAZ most certainly has.)

Hey - they've missed the "Add witty caption" option, I want my money back!

Veritas777 ( ) posted Sat, 25 October 2003 at 2:21 PM

Stewer- GREAT IDEA! Hopefully DAZ will take note of this!

LOL stewer - this is THE dialog! GREAT!!! The "Make Art" button would be really helpful! Fabulous!

Oh, a few things are missing: [ ] Add Random Toonimal [ ] Add Koshini/LaRoo/Mayadoll [ ] Remove all expressions from figure Hahaha - Fantastic!

Veritas, the source code on the page you linked to is a modified lrt renderer, which clearly states "For non-commercial use only." The example images do not look very impressive - I have seen much better CG hair than that. Also, there are some nice quotes in it: "3. As our scenes became more complex and of higher quality, our rendering times began to grow rapidly. "4. While it was easy to get something rendered, it was often difficult to produce renderings that looked believably like fur. Doing so required much parameter tweaking, rendering and rerendering. It became clear quickly that there is a fine line between "fur" and "rubber spiky things" that could be crossed"

On days like this, I would settle for flexible asset management, good workflow, and tidy coding.

xantor ( ) posted Sat, 25 October 2003 at 3:49 PM

I would like to see a good cartoon renderer. Cinema 4d has one that is pretty good...

xvcoffee ( ) posted Sat, 25 October 2003 at 4:10 PM

A better bum that's just Daz 1.0

Environment creators. Specifically being able to easily create walls, windows, and door of a set height, width, and length. Also being able to get exact measurements within a scene. We've had some forensic science discussions about this in another thread.

I tacked in Bryce and Wings3D... went to put in Amapi, but there was like, no more room for additional poll options :0 /P

Add 1) soft body dynamics, 2) targeted gravity effects (e.g. hair) Stewer, Could you add something to cross V2's eyes? That seems to be popular too.

stewer ( ) posted Sat, 25 October 2003 at 6:17 PM

Stewer, Could you add something to cross V2's eyes? That seems to be popular too. That will not be in the free base version, you'll need to purchase a plugin for it. Plutonium members get it for 30% less (a $800 value), no vouchers. Also, it works only with V4.

PabloS ( ) posted Sat, 25 October 2003 at 6:21 PM

"That will not be in the free base version. It's a consipracy I tell you ... just suck more money out of us!

A better animation timeline like they have in Adobe video products. The one in Poser is too complicated.

Poser 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Pro 2014, 11, 11 Pro

sandoppe ( ) posted Sun, 26 October 2003 at 1:06 AM

I just want to be able to render a damned image without it freezing or freeking out when it can't find something......you've probably guessed......I'm a P5 user. Oh.....and a plug-n for Vue :)

Puntomaus ( ) posted Sun, 26 October 2003 at 4:56 AM

"A better animation timeline like they have in Adobe video products. The one in Poser is too complicated." What "Adobe products are you talking about?? :-) I use After Effects 5.5 production bundle and used premeier before switching to Apple final cut pro For character animation you need to be able to see ALL of your channelsand key frames at once( as in Dope sheet) Posers Dope sheet is very useful if you want to do chracter animation with realistic secondary motion added after the broad movements are blocked in.

The Lightwave system of keyframing is pretty good and it works right unlike poser`s...

As an owner of lightwave trust me it needs a proper dope sheet :-)

The ability to load, save, import, and export most if not all 3d file formats (bryce, 3ds max, vue, etc), 2d file formats (jpg, gif, svg, etc), and multimedia formats (mpeg, avi, swf, mov, etc). On image maps the ability to use most if not all 2d file formats such as svg, and multimedia formats.

Phantast ( ) posted Sun, 26 October 2003 at 5:23 PM

I would be quite happy with the same basic functionality as Poser 4, but working properly and with a sensible interface.

Grace37 ( ) posted Mon, 27 October 2003 at 9:40 AM

for me i just want anything that will help me get more realism. i think for most ppl realism is inportant the body dynamics like breasts and the penis maybe even a way that will adjust the body when clothing is put on so you dont need to hide parts human bodys can squeez into clothing. maybe a way to make it so the conforming clothing reads the morphs of the person and adjusts it to match, or even automaticaly copys the morphs out of the model and auto injects the morphs into the clothing kinda like a built in tailor.
