Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 05 2:05 am)
This is from the help file for my next product, but it ain't no big secret, so I'll share. If you want to hang clothes in a wardrobe, but don't want extra figures cluttering up the scene, you can easily turn them into props. It's better to do this in an empty scene so you only have one figure to select. Open an outfit and leave it in it's default position. Make sure BODY is selected in the menu under the document window. Go to Menu/Window/Joint Editor and when it opens, click on the 'Zero Figure' button. The dress will revert to a zeroed state. Once the dress is zeroed, set the Zscale of the BODY to between 10% - 15%. If you need to make any adjustments to it, do them now. Go to Menu/File/Export/Wavefront OBJ (alt-f-e-w) and in the dialog box that opens, make sure all the body parts of the dress are checked. Click OK to export it and give it a name. In the 2nd dialog box, uncheck ALL options and click OK. Delete the dress figure or open a new document window, then go to Menu/File/Import/Wavefront OBJ (alt-f-i-w). Find the dress.obj and import it. Again uncheck ALL options. You now have a dress which retains all it's materials and textures, but is a single object, smaller in file size and easier to deal with, since it doesn't have lots of body parts. You can save it to the library as a prop. All you need now is a hanger to put them on. mac
And there are hangers in Daz' free archive :o)
