is cl missing in action? i haven't heard a thing from them all month. not since poser:artist was released. seems like they're laying low. any ideas??? is it something internally or are the anticipating daz|studio? maybe it's just me. seems like most sites send out a feeler once a month or so...

CL is alive and working on Poser - if you read the interview with Marc that was featured on 'rosity a while ago, that'll say you that they're working on localized version of P5/OS X and SR-4.

I got a newsletter a couple of days ago..nothing new in there, however

The latest is that they are at or going to some computer show in Europe and they are back partnering with Carrara Studio again. They are working on releasing service pack 4 and are now talking about starting a year long development cycle for Poser 6. Read the spotlight back issues. The very latest is that they have dropped their prices till the end of the month. I just bought Poser 5 for $90 on their online store Wednesday night and I received it yesterday (Saturday). Now that is service!

Probably pretty fast service when they only had to ship 1 box :) that was sarcasm...sorry :)

It sounds like Daz Studio is still a ways off. By then I should have Carrara Studio 3 and hopefully Poser patch #4, a plug-in between the two, stability, and I will be in heaven!

InfoCentral: I belive Daz Studio will be beta'd this month, and released in December. That's what I'm reading over at the Daz3d Forum. Doug

I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

I don't know how powerful Daz Studio is going to be in release 1, but I believe its not supposed to be earth shaking. Daz said that the advanced features and import/export plug-ins will come in later releases. So my advice is to pick up the October editon of Digit magazine and get the full version of Carrara 1.1 which is probably going to have more muscle. Well at lease until version 2 comes out. Unless it comes with the Lightwave plug-in I am going to have to stay with the Pro Pack anyways.
