I hate keyboard "shortcuts"; being just moderately dyslexic means they are anything but for me. I use the mouse and the menus whenever I can. I have to be very careful when using the x, y and z keys for confining movement, etc; and the alt and ctrl keys when resizing/rotating. I am still violently irritated by having to use the escape key in Bryce5 to change between render and work window. In the old days I just had to click on a 'surface' away from any controls and that did the trick. I'm sure keyboard input in a graphics program is a godsend for lots of folk, but I like my mouse and not having to look away from the screen.
JC_01, thanks for taking the trouble to make and post the mini screen cap tutorial, most appreciated. I am aware of said button, but it's more of a faff for me than groping for the escape key. It's a tiny target at my screen res; and it's a toggle between three stages, one of which I require only rarely. The escape key is physically bothersome because, aside from aforementioned dyslexia, my keyboard sits on a narrow shelf (graphics tablet in front of monitor). It's not the end of the world having an important key slip out of reach sometimes, but irritating nonetheless. The real annoyance is that a perfectly satisfactory way of working, to which I had become accustomed, was changed for no apparent benefit. I don't mind them adding options, but taking options away for no reason is insane (and insane making). Like I said, I'm sure keyboard input is great for many (shadowdragonlord included, it would seem ;-)) but I chose Bryce precisely because it was primarily a mouse and screen GUI system. I realise this probably isn't as important to the forum as the double faucet issue; you'll just have to excuse me the indulgence of getting something off my chest. ;-)
(grins at PJF!) Rookie. The hot keys are one of the major benefits of Bryce, or any program. To ignore their use is to miss out on many, many features. Ctrl-D, Ctrl-L, Ctrl-K, oh hell I could go on and on. Ctrl-Alt-doubleclick the Sun Dial. And that's only with Bryce. Time is money, PJF, and methinks a quick run-through from your hotkey sheet that came with your copy of Bryce might assist you in generating some kind of image or other, someday. Next you're gonna tell me you picked a Mac because it only has one mouse button, and it's less confusing?!?!? (grins, it's a joke, Bryce is a one-mouse-button program!) But I don't mind, whatever works for you! One suggestion for the keyboard-impared is the AWESOME remote control that comes with the ATI All-in-Wonder DV series of graphics cards. You can purchase this remote separetly, and it features an on-remote mouse, windows navigation keys, and as many as ten programmable hot buttons. You will never have to touch your quaint keyboards again!!! (for the record, MuddyGrubb was CORRECT! I DO need some coffee!)

I am working on my challenge entry...the scene takes about 10 - 15 minutes to save. TWICE now, TWICE... I have hit Crtl/S instead of Crtl/D when I was trying to duplicate something... You don't want to shut down the save in the event that it blows up the file. So you wait..... GAH!!!!
