Subject: Help - Purple and White Panther

krbtv ( ) posted Sun, 06 August 2000 at 10:12 PM · edited Thu, 26 December 2024 at 1:07 PM

I just bought the Panther with the Texture maps. My Yellow Panther looks white with black spots and the black panther looks purple with black spots. What am I doing wrong?

Kimber, Adjust the colours of the figure... usually to either white or off-white... that way the texture isn't coloured nby the figure.. ) Cheers, Wizzard

I get this purple/white too, it's an unusual quirk for a Zygote model. I've never had to alter any settings before.

I thought the whole purpose of the map was to get the yellow and black panther. How do you adjust the color of the figure? Do you click the color tool and change their color or do I have to go into Painter and change some colors?

Kimberly, if you open the material menu for the panther (in Poser), you can change the base colour of the model there. Simply change it to a white or very very pale grey and that should stop the model colour from affecting the texture maps Paul

see new post where I have put up the settings I used for a jaguar, I then went into photoshop and used the lighting effects adding a slightly focused light with ambient of soft orange

krbtv ( ) posted Mon, 07 August 2000 at 7:49 AM

The base color is already white. The settings below: Render, Materials Object color=white Highlight color=black Ambient color=black Reflective color=white Texture=JaguarM.tiff Bump=Panther.bum

Hello Everyone, Thanks for the feedback on the Panther/jaguar. The problems that you all have had are being taken care of. The Grey panther is supposed to be the black panther map, and the pruple panther is supposed to be the Jaguar...but the Mythical black panther map was used accidently as the loaded map for the Jaguar and named incorrectly. The purple one was going to be used as a like Jungle book or comic book type texture but was later ditched...so we thought. We are fixing it as we speak so that all is well and those that had purchased the Panther for both the mac and especially the PC should contact me with a copy of your email reciept and I will sent you an updated file. So basically we messed up and confused even ourselves... :) Sorry for all the trouble and hopefully all will be well soon and you can have the awesome Panther/Jaguar the way we wanted you to. Sincerely, Doug Wheeler doug@zygote.com

Well, I'm going to copy my texes I have now into another file because I'm sure that the new file will overwrite and I rather like having just the b/w that I can adjust colors. But--it will be nice to get the right ones. Zygote folks always seem to take care of us--we need to remember. Diane B

The new one looks very cool. It's a 13.4 MB download, however.
