Subject: VUE 4 PROFESSIONAL... some problems !!!

x-man ( ) posted Fri, 31 October 2003 at 6:14 AM · edited Sun, 29 December 2024 at 10:42 AM

Hy, i'm testing my new VUE 4 PRO... mmmh i've some big problem. Vue is very slow when export to 3dsmax and it's too slow of vue 4 in render... but is not this the big problem. I've start a new scene, then i've import a character from poser5... everything OK... funny. Now i want to export this scene to 3ds (to test on 3DSMAX and VRAY or BRAZIL or other render engine); i can't do this because i've this error message "Sorry, the selected objects have been locked from export. They cannot be exported." What ??? This is a one object scene, and this object is a character that i've made in poser5... why this is locked... and from who? How can i solve this ? Thanks to all bye xman

You cannot export a Poser figure from Vue. It would be a copyright violation, if you could do so. Guitta

x-man ( ) posted Fri, 31 October 2003 at 7:16 AM

I've read all infos form e-on software web site and form other source on the web, but i've never see this feature: You cannot export a Poser figure from Vue. I think that if this is true, this is a non-correct information about a product from e-on software. If i import a object in vue and edit it into this (import poser character and split it for example) why i cant export it? I'm working on a very important project: a short film with vue scene and poser actor... i've a big problem rendering this on vue because it's very very slowly, so i need to export to render in another program faster than it. In this way i can't export it and i must render in this slowly way? I hope this is not true. xman

gebe ( ) posted Fri, 31 October 2003 at 7:28 AM

x-man it IS true! Poser belongs to CuriousLabs. You can import it into Vue to use it there, but not export it from Vue to another application. Guitta

Hi x-man,

The easiest way would be to load the Poser model directly in 3DStudioMAX using Reiss Studio's "Body Studio 2" plugin. If you need additional VUE PRO contents, export separately the vegetation in 3DS format, the terrain as elevation map and the sky as an environment map.

Thanks Guitta for your infos, also if this is not what i hope to listen... So now i'm trying to make all project in Vue (with the speed problem). I've my old Vue 4 installation with Mover 4 working... I've installed my new Vue 4 Pro with Mover4 for vuepro (add-on folder), but it doesn't work... Bad serial error and after this star Vue 4 pro but without Mover4. Can u give me some help? (I've a big problem, because my short film project must be ready for the end of November and i need to start the rendring) Thanks xman

gebe ( ) posted Fri, 31 October 2003 at 8:15 AM

Hm, did Mover ask you, when you installed it, to write the serial number? If not there must be something wrong. If you are working with XP Pro, I can help you, otherwise I'm lost. I did the following: Installed Vue 4 Pro, lounched it Installed Mover 4. The reason why I launched it first, before installing mover is the following: I also have Vue 4.12 installed on the same HD.

x-man ( ) posted Fri, 31 October 2003 at 8:18 AM

Yes i'm working with XP Pro. When i start Mover4ForVueProInstaller i've insert the serial number and it say to me that the installation was finish. (no bad error) But, after it, starting VUE 4 Pro, i've an error for Mover4 sn and after it Vue start without Mover4.

gebe ( ) posted Fri, 31 October 2003 at 8:35 AM

In XP Pro: Go to c:Windows Right-click the file VuePro.reg and select MODIFY from scroll down menu. Inside the file you must find the following: Mover 4 Serial:MOV4-xxxxx-x-xxxxx-xxx-xx If not, write it down manually with the right serial number. Save your file and start Vue 4 Pro. Hope this helps, please let me know. Guitta

Here is how the file should look.

x-man ( ) posted Fri, 31 October 2003 at 8:56 AM

I've edited this file and i've not the serial for Mover into it. I've write down it manually, but when i start Vue 4 Pro it ask me for Serial Number. If i edit this file (VuePro.reg) and after save it, if i reopen it, it's empty... and for this reason vue 4 pro ask to me for sn. I can find a way to edit it. P.S. Are u in a IRC Channel ? so we can talk more faster than this. Thanks. :)

I have ICQ. I will send you the number by IM right now. I only use ICQ!

Ok... after an afternoon trying... nothing the problem is still here. SOMEONE CAN HELP ME ??? I've installed VUE 4 PROFESSIONAL... and it's all right After this i've installed MOVER4 for vue4pro from Add-on folder... and it's all right. But when i run vue 4 pro i've a bad message that say to me "Bad Serial Number for Mover..." and after this Vue 4 Pro start without Mover4. How can i solve this ??? It's most important and most urgent for me. Thanks to all Bye xman

GfXart ( ) posted Fri, 31 October 2003 at 1:32 PM

X-man, please give me one good reason why you don't call the manufacturer to solve your problem with the Mover serial, especially if it's urgent.

gebe ( ) posted Fri, 31 October 2003 at 1:40 PM

I answer for x-man: Because it is urgent and it is the weekend and if ever somebody here knows to resolve the problem would be nice. We passed 1 hour together on ICQ and could not find a solution:-) Guitta

joffry ( ) posted Fri, 31 October 2003 at 5:19 PM

Did you update Vue Pro to 26601 or whatever the number is? Same thing happened tome (before I updated) while waiting 3 DAYS for Vue supprt to get back to me, I figured it out myself. Even though when I tried to update thru the program it said I was up to date, I wasn't, went hunting on E-ons site and saw a newer version.. Am I annoyed that I had to figure this out myself,, yes.. I hope this is the solution to your problems..

x-man ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 3:20 AM

Thanks to all those that have answered to me, in special way to Guitta ! GfXart i don't know if computer graphics is for you an hobby or a work, for me is a work, so this problem is for me very serious; i've just write down e-on software for another problem, but they have answered to me in generic way and they have not resolved the problem... but it is normal, is not possible to resolve the specific problems of all the customers, i know and i do not complain myself. I'm writing here because, like always, one of the best way to solve a software bug or to have a suggestion is to ask it in the forum... and this forum is one of the best in the NET! (for me) I've not updated my VUE4PRO because the package version is just the 26601 (I have bought yesterday...) And everything is going well in installation and the program is working well (too too slowly, but well). The only problem is with Mover4. I've read some strange post in forums around the net about it: the Mover4 VUE4PRO addon folder version is working or you need to installa Mover4 for vue 4 and after upgrade it? Mover4 in the addon folder is around 880 Kb, but the download version on e-on web site is aroud 35MB... is the same? How can i install a working version of Mover4 on Vue 4 Professional if i have just a working Serial Number of Mover ? Thanks to all. Bye xman

gebe ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 3:34 AM

xman, please open a new thread with "Lynn or Steve Bell please-Vue Pro/Mover problem" in the headline. Explain exactly how you have installed Vue Pro and Mover. Explain that your mover 4 serial was accepted while installing it, and how Vue behaves when you open it etc. Explain every thing very much in detail. Hopefully Lynn or Steve will read it then. Guitta

gebe ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 3:51 AM

Also explain that your Mover 4 for Vue pro is not written in the register.... That , if you edit VuePro.reg, the Mover 4 serial will disapear when written manually, Your OS, and all the other details. Only way to find help is to have all the infos.

gebe ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 3:53 AM

xman you say above the following: "I've write down it manually, but when i start Vue 4 Pro it ask me for Serial Number" What serial number is Vue asking for? The Vue4 serial, the Mover 4 serial?? And if you write it in, what kind of message do you get?

x-man ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 4:00 AM

I start with my Vue 4 Professional working. I install Mover4 from Add-on folder in Application CD, they ask to me for sn (MOV4-xxxxx-x-xxxxx-xxx-xx) and i insert my working mover4 sn; the installation process finish without error. Now, first to start vue 4 pro, i edit my vue4pro.reg and i can see the mover 4 sn is write down correctly. I start vue 4 pro and i have an error message about mover4 serial number, after this vue 4 pro start and it's all right (without mover4). Now if i go to vue4pro.reg i can see that mover4 sn line was cleaned.

gebe ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 4:18 AM

Normally you should not need to write the Mover 4 serial manually in the VuePro.reg file. It should be automatically there after installing. And also in the register (regedit). We have tried this already. You could even write it manually in the register (regedit), but you need to know well how to do that.

x-man ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 4:23 AM

A question: now i've on my workstation together vue4 and vue4pro, can this create problem? I think not, because i try to install vue4pro on my notebook (where there is not vue4) and i've the same problem. :-( [i'm also on ICQ #237577242]

x-man ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 4:49 AM

Ok... i'm thinking to buy another package of Mover4 (mover4 for vue 4 professional) I think there's some strange problem from the previous license to this. I think the best way to have a clean product line is to buy a new mover4; i hope i can do this online also in the week. Thanks to all. Bye xman

joffry ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 5:17 AM

Mover4 for Vue Pro requires a new purchase and a new serial #, you cannot use the license from Vue 4.2

x-man ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 10:21 AM

Joffry this is what I imagined, also if on the Quick Reference Card there is an explanation of Mover4 and here you can read that a you can use any previous license. So, i'm going to take a Mover4 for vue 4 professional, because in this way my e-on software suite is complete. :) Do you think, i can buy it form e-on web site in the weekend (download version) or i need to wait until monday ?

gebe ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 10:26 AM

I think you just need to ask for a new serial for your Mover4. I don't think (but I'm not 100% sure) that you need a new Mover 4. Guitta

gebe ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 10:27 AM

Just try to install first your existing Mover4 over Pro. Then install the add on Mover4. If this doesn't work, you always can do the other things.

gebe ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 10:29 AM

Make sure to launch Pro before you do so. I have Vue 4.12 on the same HD where Pro is. I just have installed Pro, launched it once and then Mover from the add on. It works perfectly. Maybe you have Vue 4 on another drive??

gebe ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 10:31 AM

Or maybe, because your Pro is NOT a sidegrade, but a full version, you need in fact a new Mover???? Funny. I could find any indication on this.

x-man ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 10:33 AM

I've Vue4.2 and Vue4Pro on the same HD. I've Mover4 working well on my vue4.2. If i install this Mover4 (for vue 4.x) on Vue4Pro... the program crash. If i install Mover4 (for vue 4 pro, from add-on) i've Bad Serial Number.

gebe ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 10:38 AM

joffry said you need a new Mover. If he sais so, I think he's right and he has Pro and a new Mover too:-)

x-man ( ) posted Sat, 01 November 2003 at 10:45 AM

Yes, i think so. I hope only to take Mover4 from e-on web site today. If not, i wait until Monday. Thanks to everyone try to solve my problem, in special way to GUITTA. I hope to send some still of my work (short film all in vue4pro) in two week to renderosity and e-on. Thanks to all. Good Weekend and good holiday. (this week in Italy is holiday) Bye xman
