Steve, buddy, welcome to the Vue world. Looks like you're off to a good start! Let's see... I like the Pose and the foreground composition. Don't be afraid to load up lots of Solid Growth vegetation. Vue can handle 10,000,000 or more polygons of it without blinking. 3 things: 1. The lack of vegetation makes me think "Savannah", but the ground textures and mist makes me think "Tropics" 2. The shade is on the wrong side of the tree...either that or it's a very stupid panther. :0 3. The tree seems wrong (too small, wrong type for the climate) BTW: what lens aperture are you using? Hope you don't take it the wrong way. Actually, I think it's excellent for a first attempt -SMT

I'd rather stay in my lane than lay in my stain!

Welcome Steve. Very good for a first attempt. Do you have all the vegetations? I would have used the Acacia tree personally.I like the way poser textures come through in Vue don't you.Keep up the good work. Marge

Nice going Steve. I had my first piece just as fine as yours and I started on the third day I had Vue. Your image - Good composition and the panther pose is very good. Not sure about the lighting direction but my cat does prefer to be in the sun...those fleas must be feeling that they are in hell....LOL! For shadow, I think it should be on the harsh side to suite the environment setting. I would have the tree much bigger in size. Have the panther mouth open and tongue sticking out drooping. I am not sure if you are going for realism, but its my favourite. My comment is of course IMO. One thing I realise in Vue....you have to be very bold and play with the "Material Editor, Filters, Bumps vaules etc... At it Steve, you are on! :) The next thing you would not regret having is the vegetation bundle from e-onsoftware. Happy Vueing! Bill Tesign

http://www.multimania.com/arte/indexeng.html And click on tutorials for beginners. There's a few light tutorials in there though not ones that would apply to this sort of image I suspect.

Truth has no value without backing by unfounded belief.

I just seen today the one you make with the eagle.I prefer. Also,i must say that the Camona files you put on Poserworld are imported easily in Vue with maps. After seing the Guitta's excellent tutorials ,try Varian site for other ones and plants files:http://www.varian.net/dreamview/

Very good, I agree with the statements above, also remember to send Zygote your reciept for the Panther and they will send you the new texture maps, i haven't got mine back yet, but the ones they gave out first were the wrong ones. Should make the picture a lot better as you'll have a yellow jaguar instead of a grey one. Best wishes Jdoy
