Subject: online time counter....

Wizzard ( ) posted Tue, 25 July 2000 at 4:11 AM · edited Fri, 24 January 2025 at 1:22 PM

Perchance upgrading the online time in the PM section to reflect the time of those of us who are here over 99 minutes? just a thought.... I took a look and I've been here 0 minutes 8 ) Wizzard

Ironbear ( ) posted Thu, 03 August 2000 at 11:52 PM

I'm glad someone else noticed that... I've been noticing some inaccuracy in wether someone is online or not. Pvt messages seem to log someone as in after they're off, even after a refresh...

It might be just that we cannot see our time-on... I've seen your's at 96... etc... It was just a thought... Now... if we could convince the pagewriters to modify the ratings in the gallery so it's an option.. like the comments ne? Cheers, Wizzard

I don't know, up at the top right theres always a "Wlcome Ironbear Online for X# of minutes..." line. Since I don't time myself, I don't know how accuarte that is. Also, I'm guilty of signing on and then running back & fro between my inet machine, my WS to render, and whatever client's machines I'm currently working on, so my online time is usually less than what's recorded. btw, It's good to be out of C&D and over where people have other things to say than flaming! my gods, what a mess

Awwwww... C'mon.. you must admit it's moderately amusing ne? ) It's like watching a hockey game.... or football... or a really good game of rugby.. Kinda sensless... but interesting..... Cheers my friend... Wizzard

Oh, don't get me wrong, I think it's much more than mildly amusing... In a lot of cases it's downright hilarious. But, way too many of those guys take themselves and their opionions WAY too seriously. And there's only so much of that I can stomach before I have to come here or poser or bryce forum's where there's some sanity. Okay... Relative sanity, anyway. Less insanity? Hmmm... beter quit while I'm ahead on this. Heh.. Heh. How're you doing Wizzard? Heard any good jokes lately?

Not too bad... Let's see.. There was this PC user and this Mac user sitting in a bar..... In walked a Poweruser.... complaining about how limited the memory on his computer was.... only 2 terrabytes.... ermmm.. I guess you had to be there... ) Cheers, Wizzard

snicker Heh... Heh... Watch it, bub... Or i'll have to whip out my stock of atrocious Mac jokes... MACINTOSH... Machine Always Crashes, If Not, Operating System Hangs... I finally got crisped by all of the rampant generalizations on the ratings flamer and posted my own vent under one of the later threads... Funny, no one's bothered to flame me yet. Mabey I didn't try hard enough... Have to aim better next time, eh? chuckle (Have you noticed that several times, for some reason, we seem to wind up the only two people in a thread? Oh, well... Good company, anyway. Cheers!)

It's just me, my counter does the same thing. Perhaps we can't see our numbers except up on top...I'm having problems with the site recognizing me tho....at first I thought I had misbehaved....LMAO...now I have to enter thru an e-mail URL...oh well. J

Are you delteing your cookies periodically? I had that problem, logging in each time rather than auto log, untill I realised it was looking for the cookie. Im not sure about the online counter & who's online status, may be a bug. I've noticed that the Pvt Messaging reply to doesn't always get the user name right and that is a bug. This might be another... And, no threes not a crowd, more the merrier... I just noticed that across the forums Wizzard and I seem to keep winding up the only two there in a thread. Good to have company!

3's never a croud.. save when within a one person shower stall.... hard to reach the soap then... hrmmm... I delete my cookie after each session... but then again... my link to here is the logout.ez page.. that way I log in and cruise the forums etc.. being a bit paranoid about cookies.. ) Mac jokes??? fire away... I keep looking for the third button.. then realize there's not even a second one.. ) or how about files to the left.. names to the right? Bear, It might be that we two are of the few that are really interested in what we talk about? excellent company... now to get people into the chat area where it's "real time" ) Jackie, I welcome your presence within this thread... and appreciate the concept that we'll be hearing more from ye... a little warning though.... I tend towards humour and minor sarcasm at times... but always in good fun... Pray tarry a while and regale us with thy handsome beauty... Cheers, Wizzard

Jackie ( ) posted Wed, 09 August 2000 at 5:12 AM

Flattery will get you just about anywhere...LOL...And I'd love to chat , but everytime I go there, it's empty!! Since my Life revolves around this souped up TV....you may be seeing quite alot of me in here... :) J.

Wizzard ( ) posted Wed, 09 August 2000 at 6:57 AM

Jackie, I'll go in and flash ) Cheers, Wizzard

Ironbear ( ) posted Wed, 09 August 2000 at 8:29 AM

Minor Sarcasm? Hmmm... er... neber mind. Only problem with chat is that when you Do get several people in there, it can get a bit frenzied. I multitask well and type fast, but I've noticed that when you get a couple of thread going sometimes other folks can get to feeling ignored. I hate to hurt someones feeling unintentionally. Intentionally now.... 3rd button? I'm still looking for the Any Key and Any Other Key... If Mac stand for the acronym I mentioned... does it stand to reason that PC stands for "Perfect Computer"? snicker (Not while microsoft is involved with it) For I while I auto logged into here w/o problems... but I had to manually log into Renderotica everytime I hit the link. Then it cleared up for no reason I could see. Go fig. I don't know if we're on topic for the Forum or not... but lets pretend we're playing Need for Speed & see how long we can keep going nowhere, very fast... (Love that game when I'm in the mood... 220mph in circles. Pointless but very fun)

Hrrrmmmm.... PC eh?.. painfully crap? or pernicious carp? The only problem I have in chat is when someone finaly comes in.. they're really quiet.... sigh On topic... ermmm.. maybe we should move this into the tavern.... Cheers, Wizzard

Jackie ( ) posted Wed, 09 August 2000 at 4:07 PM

LMAO...Well...I've never been accused of being too quiet... If you head to the tavern, I'll have a Captain & Coke... Entertainment....hmmmmmm...... :)

Ironbear ( ) posted Wed, 09 August 2000 at 5:20 PM

I can take a hint... Ok, I'll join you guys (& gals) over at the tavern... Order me a large Irish coffee with Jamesons & a shot of Irish Mist, please... No whipped cream or any of that sissy stuff.
