I got the tutorial up at my site. Please let me know what isn't clear or doesn't work. I wrote down each step as I did it and put in some screen shots so hopefully it makes sense. (Nudity in the tutorial.) It is based on Yamato's tutorials, but I recapped his tutorial with my own words and screen shots, plus I cheated and combined a few steps. And, yes, I give full credit to Yamato for all the work. :)

If you're at least comfortable with Poser, you should be able to do this tutorial, even if you haven't hacked a .cr2 file before. (Comfortable means you can load figures, save figures into the library, know what a .cr2 file is, and know where files goes in Poser. Even then, I tried to spell most of that out.)

I hope to have an M3 one up in a few days. M3 requires a little more work with the Anime Doll since the figures don't quite match up.

I'm crawling to bed now! It is sooo past my bed time.

Hope y'all find it useful!

Cres

Thank-you for the time it takes to do this. I'll give it a try now. The more diverse bodies, the better.

And before anyone says that they're afraid to touch a .cr2 file, here's a little secret: It's just a bunch of letters and numbers! There's nothing explosive, corrosive, or otherwise dangerous about opening one up and poking around! It won't poke back. I promise. Just save the file under a new name before you start messing with it and you won't permanently damage anything. Cheers! Cres the tired.

That looks great, Cres! Lots of work putting together tuts.

It lives! It lives! I have just followed this tutorial and now I have my beautiful little Frankenstein's animedoll! This extends the versatility of the Animdoll by miles. Now to try a Posette body so as to use all those Posette space outfits I have! Thanks Crescent - if even I can get a result first time then you must be an excellent teacher - I particularly appreciated the need for chocolate!

Definitely a happy thing. Now I can hurt my cutephobic friends souls in whole new ways! (The devil made me do it! Honest!)

Line numbers didn't match up but I think I cut and deleted and pasted correctly. HOWEVER, I seem to have wound up with a multi-colored "animev3.cr2".

Any idea where I went wrong or how to fix it? (Ohhhh, Cre-esssss....???)

Can you manually change the colors or apply a V3 texture to the body? If so, just change all the materials for the body to the same color and them re-save the file to the library. If that doesn't work, then my guess off-hand is there's a mistake on the Materials section and you ended up with some wrong materials for the body. If you'd like, you can send me the last part of the file, where you get the Material blocks (material skinhead, etc.) and I'll take a look at it to see how it compares to my file. Cheers!

I'd like to have the material look like the anime doll did in the beginning. Yes, I can select different sections and change the material in the material window in Poser but, I wasn't able to apply a texture to the figure. It just ignored my attempt. SOmething else a bit weird...I had lots of .....:2 and ......:1's in the material pulldown. Like, skinhead, then skinhead:1 then skinhead:2. (running on memory here since I was ready to turn the PC off for the night...wifey waiting on me...I'll do more investigation tomorrow). Tks for the reply.

I think you have 2 sets of materials at the bottom of the file. You probably didn't delete some of the materials from the V3 file or you copied over too many material files from the Anime Doll. Let me know if ya need more help on this, Cres
