Here is a render with Bryce 5 background. I am happy with the model, although it is not perfect. I learned alot about the process. I first began by slapping spline and vertex models together, exporting them and using UVMaper to create a texture map. When I brought the Frankenstien looking bird back into Carrara it looked fine, except that the model was very hard to pose, since it still acted like several models all put together. Version 2 and 3 were then done using spline also, but converted and I took a very long time to link all the pieces together. The v3 model is all one mesh. Now my only problem is that in a few places the mesh seems to flip, giving me part of one wing flipped to the other side on the texture map. Anyway, it works, and the bones are working fine. Question: Now I'd like a few more of these little fellows, but I can't seem to duplicate the model in Carrara with bones attached. I select my home bone, or the mesh but it sill won't let me duplicate. Thanks for all the help. R.

I had that problem too and I sought for help from the older messages. I found that it can't be done easily directly. Instead, you can save the goose into another file with the animation and no other objects in it. Then import it back to the original file. It is a bit complicated but this way the mesh and the skeleton get grouped(which you cannot do by hand either) and then you can change the position for the other geese. Maybe someone else has newer information and better ideas but I couldn't figure out any. At least it worked this way for me. I've attached a link to the old messages for you to check for yourself if you want to. -HK
