RWALLER has just released his long-awaited Veronica Lake hair.

Now, the question becomes- get this for a much more Veronica and Jessica look, or try and TWEAK the KOZ Kyoko Mk III hair to look more like it(especially the wavy look).

I am especially interested because:

  1. PhilC MIGHT just be doing a NEW Jessica Rabbit style
dress! He has issued a FIRM MAYBE about this!

  2. A certain well-known Poser character artist MIGHT be
coming out with a "Looks Like Jessica-Veronica" character!

Lord Nakagawa already did J. Rabbit, but I don't think he could release it due to copyright reasons or something.

Not to be dissin' Jessica Rabbit (a stone hottie IMHO) but that look didn't originate with her and in fact was not doubt ...., er BRED primarily from the work of the GREAT Bill Ward! See link. One - or even two or more - could release characters looking like this, I certainly would think, without copying or calling her Jessica Rabbit! Just my thoughts! I should point out my opinion might be somewhat biased, having a LARGE collection Ward (as well as Wenzel, Dedini, Jefferson Machamer et al).

Thanks for the site link LarryF...I am a longtime BWard fan, from way back in the 50's when I started following his work.

Oh, Ward's great - got lots of his stuff. Just bought a brand new book about him, cost me 35 bucks and worth every penny :o) It's called "The Glamour Girls of Bill Ward", nice thick fancy book. :] Fish

Great to see there're more of us "types" around. Think that book will be having a CO-owner in a few days, LOL!

As I posted in a thread several days ago, Veronica Lake was the inspiration for the cartoon character Jessica Rabbit. The whole "Roger Rabbit" movie was based on a 1940's detective theme- of which Veronica Lake played in several. Veronica Lake was a hottie of that era and was also known as the "Blonde Bomber", as seen in movies like "I Wanted Wings". She also appeared in later movies as a REDHEAD, and the combination is what inspired the Jessica Rabbit character. Lake's hairstyle was an "icon" of the late 1930's- early 40's.

And forgot to say that Nerd's on a ROLL with Mr. F clothes and now a "Jessica" dress! The character that will fill it is still on the way! (Don't know why Lord Nakagawa didn't release his- he wouldn't get in any trouble as long as he didn't call his character "Jessica Rabbit". Take a look at Borus's Mike Bond character.)

Yeah Veronica Lake was definitely fine fine stuff! My Ward take on Jessica R was and still is she is an illustrated/drawn character and to my eye rooted in the way Ward - among others - drew bombshells of the female persuasion. All this not meant to detract from either JR or her creators 'cause, as anyone can see, the girl is hot! "Smokin'!" to coin a phrase!! As to VL, I think that she and Alan Ladd are like quintessential types and, together (at least once but maybe more - can't recall off hand) pretty hard to beat! Wonder how they would fare today?
