Ive finally decided to come around to the Time machine project that Ive been putting off for a few months. Well, heres a sneak preview of how the modeling is coming along.

this is the 1960 version..looking good so far. And probably a little easier to do than the 2002 version (or was it 2003..;)

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

so cool...Sharen

Awesome model, what'd you make it all in? Just Bryce?!?! (also, where's the Flex capacitor?) (grins)

Ornlu ( ) posted Thu, 06 November 2003 at 2:25 PM

Tsk tsk shadow, "flux" as in electro-magnetic flux. which is just the amount of current going through a specified three dimensional area ( I believe ) Movie magic mumbo jumbo mutters... Anyhoo, that's a really cool model, can't wait to see the final product.

Love it, love it! One of my favorite flicks. Can't wait.

Great modeling! Isn't the Flux capacitor in the delorean? ;)

Cool time machine. Looks like it will collect radiation and beam it to the back of your head. Would make an environmentally friendly electric chair.

BOOMER ( ) posted Thu, 06 November 2003 at 3:46 PM

Great modeling quest. Buttons on the chair and all. ICM, a flux capacitor is standard on time machines. It goes right next to the flange and the 11 sided flugelbanger.

Because I like to blow $%&# up.

I believe that the flux capacitor that Shadow is referring to is the temporal flux capacitor which deals with the fluctuations in the time-space continuum as it pertains to the 4th dimension. The distortion is created when the fabric of time is exponentially accelerated to near the speed of light by the flux generator, which alters the temporal frequency allowing it to be manipulated in such a way as to render the time traveler senseless and totally incoherent. In essence, a babbling fool. :)

yea, but who's on first? giggles and runs back out before getting smacked hahahahaha Jen

Ornlu ( ) posted Fri, 07 November 2003 at 12:32 AM

There is no such thing as a flux capaciter. It is infact an oxi-moron used as a joke. A capaciter prevents flux, from occuring, therefore a flux, capaciter would in essence just be an EXTREMELY expensive resistor, which would just generate a little heat.. It's just a fake word for something in a fake machine in a movie from the 80's!!!!

shadowdragonlord ( ) posted Fri, 07 November 2003 at 1:39 AM

Whatever Ornlu, next your'e going to tell us his name is "Michael J. Fox", instead of "Marty McFly", or something equally preposterous!

Quest ( ) posted Fri, 07 November 2003 at 2:27 AM

Ornlu, I was going to say that the temporal homogeny of the time continuum is directly proportional to the inverse of the amount of the modulation on the frequency of the amplitude in the flux. To resolve this predicament then, it is necessary to have a Marx bank capacitor bank to ignite the initial magnetic field of the Flux Compression Generator (FCG) to the tune of tens of KiloAmperes to MegaAmperes. But I guess your explanation sums it all up very nicely. Thanks for the insight. Have you ever read this; FluxCapacitor Jen, who's on second.

JC: yea, but who's on first? Hi, there, JC_01! Congratulations! You have been chosen from amongst thousands of Renderosity members to be the first and ONLY person to be hurled through time on a marvelous machine invented by QUEST Industries! Yes! You and ONLY you, will be slammed into the 4th dimension, by Quest Industries' latest amazing invention, a TIME MACHINE.....! Where will you go? What will you see? What epoch making event will you witness 1st hand? Only YOU can say! Yes, it's YOUR choice! For one 'time' only you can choose to witness the construction of the pyramids, the destruction of Atlantis, the eruption of Krakatoa, or perhaps the Birth of Christ! It's your choice.
