Using the nudity filter gets rid of fairies? Perhaps they need filters not only for nudity but also for vampires and fairies and, oh, I dunno, Koshini? LaRoo? M3? Freak? I think we're onto something here... bonni

I have a better idea [of course so does Ford and that is why I prefer Chevrolets]...how about a whole seperate site for each category? That way nobody has to worry about filters or accidently selecting a thumb that will lead them to a 'naughty' or 'I don't like these' graphic. Be sure to register me in "The Dirty Old Man" site if you follow my great idea!
galactron22: "Hmmm...this goes back to the whole "Naked Vicki in a temple issue"."
I can do the NVIAT.
But I can also do.... This
I dunno 'bout you... but my gal wouldn't go around in a chainmail bikini. She likes lopping heads off too much, and ya know... when ya hunt dragons... those scales are kinda sharp.
I know where he's coming from though.
I don't mind the NVIAT images... IF they are artistically well done.
Most aren't :(
Silke - who listened to "Desert Rose" too much and got inspired.... check gallery in a day or so... :P

I swear what is it with people today? Why do you feel that everything on the net should follow your whims and desires? Would you go into a museum and proceed to tell the curator to put all the abstract art in the back of room instead of mixing it with the other art because you don't like that style? No you wouldn't 'cause you'd look like an idiot. Guess what? Renderosity isn't much different. It is a public gallery, as such there is a lot of different styles. All you have to do is pass by thumbs that don't interest you... but I guess that's to hard for some people.
I have to agree with Moonbiter. Sometimes its really frustrating when you post something that isn't a pin-up and it doesn't receive much of a response. But at the same time that's the nature of the beast since nude Vicki's are really popular. If you want to avoid the pinups, then use the search tools to look at different genres rather than the entire poser gallery. BTW, you have a lot of interesting images in your gallery, Pookah :)
Moonbiter, I would certainly not advocate that everything on the net follow my whim and desire...Simply put, in a life where I have limits placed on the time I can spend sifting through thumbnails, it would be nice if the representation of genres within the Poser galleries were more evenly distributed, and I didn't have to sift through so much junk in order to find the images that I consider worthwhile. Yes, "junk" is a subjective term. There are those who would consider my images "junk"--this is their prerogative and I take no offense. I posted this thread to generate some conversation, not to poke at any raw nerves. Relax.
pookah69,The problem with the Gallery is it's not really a Gallery....it is a bulletin board. It is an internet outlet where anyone can upload an image to be viewed, where no criteria for artistic, emotional,or skill level need to be meet. It would be real nice to have a judged category that allowed only images that achieved a higher standard, but that could not be a reality here. Doing such would require a lot of hours from a panel of judges...(not to mention the flame wars from members that weren't accepted). I can only suggest to you, to try what I do... I only check out the first two or three pages of the Gallery, to see if somebody new has posted. I then go to my favorite artist list(I have a lot more written down than what shows on my homepage....new image EBots drove me crazy). I not only view their images, but look at their homepage for their favorites. I have found a goldmine of exciting images that way. Images from people I missed, people I've never heard of,people that haven't posted in a year or two. ....So I quess,my favorites list is my own personel, private, and judged(by me)category. Happy viewing,SWAMP
I do agree with Swamp on setting up a system for viewing certain personal criteria for viewing pictures. However, I do have a different viewpoint on the "higher standard", "criteria" statements. Judging by a panel would be the same thing we basically have now as any type of judging is based partially on personal opinion...that can't be removed or set aside in human nature. And as far as categorizing, of course we would not expect to see a Picasso appear in the same gallery as a DaVinci...but there are some artists in the galleries whose works are diverse in technigues and styles. In other words, not all artists do just Vicky Pinups, or SciFi fantasy...but their works diverge into several different areas and techniques. I am not disagreeing with Swamp, only offering another viewpoint as I am one whose work would probably not be seen in these galleries if the judgement of standards was in practice...nor do I commit all of my work to one genre or style.
Some people who make images in just one genre only like that genre personally. Myself, I render mostly in the scifi genre because that is where my talent is and the genre I like most. I use Vicky mostly because I don't have a very good library of M2 stuff yet. There are always reasons behind someone's actions, and thus it determines their personality and individuality.

I would like to see a category named "Non-Scantily-Provocatively-Posed-Female Imagery". No offense to those of you who produce countless images around this theme, but I do get tired of clicking past them in order to find something of personal appeal. And while they're at it, maybe the gallery administrators could create a "Non-Science-Fiction, Non-Airy-Fairy Non-Vampire Imagery" category as well? Or why don't they just combine it all and make it "Non-Scantily-Provocatively-Posed-Female Non-Science-Fiction, Non-Airy-Fairy Non-Vampire Imagery." Nah, if they did, I'd probably spend my whole day browsing the galleries. Never mind (sometimes it sucks to possess a non-mainstream aesthetic). Pookah69
