Sorry, but you can only purchase a given platinum club item one time. what does this mean? I'm a pc member, I checked the bank I have more than enough money to purchase, whats up with this?! --Essie

Huh? It means if you already bought it, you can't buy it again. Straightforward, I would think. HTH.

It's alright to use something you purchased from DAZ more than once. Even in the same scene!

Why would anyone want to buy something twice? One is all you need because it can be used an unlimited number of times, so re-buying it would be a waste of money.

PandaPride ( ) posted Thu, 13 November 2003 at 9:08 PM

I was trying to buy it for the first time and it woulnd't let me..I was like wtf?! Uggh.. maybe a glitch in the system

Carcinogen ( ) posted Thu, 13 November 2003 at 9:14 PM

I know what you mean. I had that happen with the songbird, which I had never purchased before. Contact Sales at DAZ and they will help you. Tim

I think the Daz cart is FUBAR. It declined all of my purchases. Hmphf

Silke ( ) posted Fri, 14 November 2003 at 2:41 AM

You know what I found out? I added an item to the cart once and when I put the order through didn't want that after all and changed the qty to 0. Next time I went to buy it it told me I already had it. An email to sales got it sorted and they reset it. Silke

(Since I can't edit) Actually as to why someone would buy something twice... I've given models as a gift to a friend before and yes, I bought it twice - obviously. I'm just too honest I guess lol.

Yes Silke, but buying things as gifts aren't *really" allowed at Daz, is it? I think you're supposed to buy a gift certificate. And buying Platinum stuff for non-Platinum members isn't allowed either. At least not as far as I know. Then again, who will ever know? If you buy something and put it on a cd and ship it to someone, then delete it from your own system. In theory it should be ok and some places allow that, just afaik not Daz.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Buying PC stuff for others shouldn't be allowed. Otherwise, a bunch of people could all share one membership, and they might as well not charge a membership fee at all. And I'm glad they only allow you to buy an item once. I've run into this limit - without it, I'd have bought a couple of things more than once, having forgotten I'd already bought them!

Crescent ( ) posted Fri, 14 November 2003 at 8:30 AM

I think it's okay to buy them Premiere stuff, (I'd suggest checking with DAZ to see how they'd want it done) but they specifically say PC stuff is a no-no. That's why you can only purchase PC things once.

Berserga ( ) posted Fri, 14 November 2003 at 8:50 AM

Safest bet is to buy gift certificates though... as far as Daz is concerned the person that buys an item is the Licensee... at least that's the impression I had gotten from reading a thread a long time ago. anyway just call Daz they'll sort out the problem... better do it before the end of friday though or you'll be waiting till monday.

who3d ( ) posted Fri, 14 November 2003 at 10:30 AM

No, I've asked recently - DAZ do not permit you to buy a product (with gift certificates being an exception, presumably!) and give it to someone else.

PandaPride if you are still having problems please contact daz either by email or by phone and they will surely help you :)
