hauksdottir ( ) posted Wed, 12 November 2003 at 8:32 PM

I'm going to guess already. I'm guessing that it is not only a lighthouse, but a big red lighthouse. There is one on Lake Michigan which has that name, but the Jupiter and Sheboyan (sp?) lighthouses are sleeker. Now, I really like the local one at the Marin headlands, but that is mostly because of location and the FUNCTIONING gargoyles on the roof. ;) The ones back east tend to be taller and more stately. (I'm posting the image for guessing purposes to identify my target, and will remove it after everybody has stopped giggling.) Carolly

Oh, and if you don't think that lighthosues are directional... here's one on a weathervane! :)

pokeydots ( ) posted Thu, 13 November 2003 at 12:53 AM

electroglyph ( ) posted Thu, 13 November 2003 at 5:53 PM

Define Direction. I've been through these before. Sharen loves to twist things. Everyone is thinking "north, south, east, west" when Sharen is thinking Direction like "Lights, camera, action". P.S. will there be a clue friday?

SndCastie ( ) posted Thu, 13 November 2003 at 9:21 PM

If we guess it right before friday will that count or do we have to repost the guess we made?

LOL! genny

I'm going to stay with lighthouses. Santa's sleigh and workshop and such are great and fun... (and with the sleigh you get Rudolph's red nose as a direction indicator) but they are seasonal items. If this is a commercial product, then it is most likely something which will also be marketable in July and February. The workshop and the sleigh could possibly be filled with other stuff at other times of the year, but Rudolph is Rudolph. Besides, if lighthouses aren't fun... why is the keeper standing in the doorway? ;^) Carolly

The Onyx Theatre / Chicago, from the musical "Chicago". You know: "5-6-7-8 C'mon babe Why don't we paint the town? [Red-Fun] And all that jazz I'm gonna rouge my knees [Red] And roll my stockings down [Direction-Fun] And all that jazz Start the car I know a whoopee spot Where the gin is cold But the piano's hot It's just a noisy hall Where there's a nightly brawl And all that jazz! " Ladies and Gentlemen, tonight the Onyx proudly presents Sam's 3d's new model: The Onyx Theatre itself. And what a wonderful model. Give 'em a hand, and all that jazz..... Q :))))

Congrats, Pokeydots! It is a very nice house, and really cheery inside with all the red and green bannisters, although I think it needs a exit door on the upper level for when the snow gets too deep. Montana has 30' drifts, so I shudder to think of what it is like further north! However, now I want to know the explanation of the clues. ;^) Carolly

SAMS3D ( ) posted Sat, 15 November 2003 at 9:45 AM

Okay, well Direction - would be North, Red - would be Santa - Fun would be House (like fun house). That's it. LOL....Sharen

Sharon, OK, thanks. I know how my twisty brain works, so I was curious as to how someone else came up with a puzzle. I just realized that the elves can't slide down the bannisters! :( They'll have to go play outside. (Considering how shiny that newly-waxed floor is, this may be a good thing... an elf hitting that with some momentum could be halfway into the next county before regaining his footing.) IIRC, RDNA had foliage swags last year which might drape nicely in those railings. Carolly

SAMS3D ( ) posted Sun, 16 November 2003 at 4:45 AM

And RDNA had those beautiful wreaths too. Sharen
