HI I`ve been using cr2.files from different V3 clothing to load V2 clothing obj. files. It makes the V2 Clothing load and fit on V3 better than using a pose to force joint parameters, and I find that I don`t need to use the Tailor program as often. Here is RDNA`s Gothic Armor for V2 & BAT`s Kawa REV 1 altered for V3.

Looks great! Could you give a quick rundown on how it's done for us "Poser handicapped" folks? ;). Laurie

Is it correct form to say, "Me three"? This might revolutionize the conforming thingy.

Cylithera ( ) posted Sat, 15 November 2003 at 10:50 PM

Me four. g

Its really fairly simple, use your favorite CR2 Editor to swap/change the figure res file lines to open the obj. file of your choice, and I swap/change the lines that load the materials too, you need to make sure the clothing types are similar. Give me a few days amd I`ll try to give detailed instructions in a tutorial.

Just switching out the obj call and texture information does it? This is good news! I wonder if it works in the reverse.... going to give it a try.

micca - no morphs are added, and any morphs that were in the CR2 to start with will no longer work since they are completely dependent on the exact geometry of the figure. What happens with an item that has a neck? The obj will be grouped for a two part V neck, while the CR2 will expect grouping for a one part V3 neck.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

sekhet ( ) posted Sun, 16 November 2003 at 9:05 AM

I havent had any problems with the two part neck, I havent had any clothes that were set up that way yet. You can use Morph Master to strip the V3 morphs and replace the original V2 ones they seem to work well enough covering V3 body parts.

You should set up a step by step tutorial for this and submit it to DAZ. If they accept it (and I think it would be a mistake not to) then you get a voucher!

Yeah I`ll see about making a complete tutorial ( as soon as I figure how to do it ) I start back on my 12 hour work days tomorrow so it could take at least a week, sorry.

It works the opposite way also! There are a few problems in the shoulders and collarbone area, but I haven't transferred the morphs over yet. This is Xurges Countess dress on V2

Omgosh how did I miss this!! I waaaaaaaaaaant that tute :) RDNA's gothic armor is one of my ALL time favorites :) BTW - Serrge's Chaos Lord armor fits M3 almost perfectly. Only problem is the front flap and the middle of the armor, but that can be fixed I think (not really tried yet) Just thought I'd mention it for those who are looking for armor. It looks pretty snazzy too... gonna have to play with some textures I think, if I can get it to fit M3 slightly better. My boyfriend got it some time ago for some render he was doing and then ended up not using it at all and it went and got forgotten on his PC. So I was poking around and defragging his machine yesterday and tripped over it...

What CR2's are you using to convert this?

sekhet ( ) posted Fri, 26 December 2003 at 11:18 AM

For the tops I used the DAZ V3 T-shirt for the bottoms I used Visual Science Bell Bottoms. Baisicly you can use whatever CR2 has the body parts you need, for some clothing it takes a little experimenting.
